Yeah I'm with you on that. The back shot can be a good pose, but there are so many other good poses. I guess the Sheeta (the first pet with the back/butt pose if I recall correctly) was so popular that it's now one of the standard glacial poses.

I love the expression. Glacier pets always have interesting faces, but this one is especially wonderful.
Oh, his jaw line is astonishing there. And the detailed shading on the musculature of his leg is also very nicely executed. I like how his gutting claw is just barely visible xD
because the pets are giving us the cold shoulder --- they are cold and prickly not warm and fuzzy
