Hi everyone. I'm glad that part is over.
If you're just joining us, this morning we suffered a database crash, followed by an unlucky failure of both our slave server backup (which had a day-old copy of the database still on it) and our datacenter's backup system. On top of that, our slave server's copy of the database turned out to be corrupt, and took most of the day to repair.
However, we're now back up and running, albeit rolled back to sometime on Saturday. A couple of notes about the rollback:
If you don't have items that you purchased, don't worry... you'll still have the sP for them. It's like the purchase never happened.
If you bought cash shop credits over the weekend and don't have them, make a ticket about it and he can help you.
If you're missing achievements that you got over the weekend, especially those related to the event, don't worry... you will have plenty of time to earn them back.
If you applied for an artist position this weekend, please resubmit your application as these are stored in our database.

And I was going to type up a lengthy reply to your accusations and such, but the short of it is that YOU aren't worth my time. You know nothing of me or what I've experienced online so if you wish to judge my knowledge of how difficult it is to run a site like this just because my account HERE is only 5 months old, you go right ahead. But you'd be wrong to judge me by the length of time I've been here. I'm capable (and HAVE) done research on this site and all I've found is ignorant diatribe and childish accusations. I have friends here who have been here for years and THEY have filled me in on the "past" of this site. But things like that can and HAS happened on many social networking sites. Since I refuse to judge a site by what it was and go by what it is, what happened in the past - true or false - doesn't affect me.
If you want to let it affect you, personally, that's your choice. If you are so unhappy here, no one makes you stay. If you think you can do better and run a perfect flaw-free site, go for it.

Even if the rollback was seriously inconvenient for a lot of us, I'm sure everyone understands. The problems with the database as of late aren't at all your fault, and even if it was the result of poor planning, there wasn't a whole lot you can do now but try to fix it, right? I appreciate the honesty and the hard work you put into these database issues. Keep up the good work, guys!

Well, you know what, Raineykins? My time is pretty valuable to me. Maybe yours isn't to you, but most people are going to get upset when they spend a lot of time trying to accomplish something just to have it completely wiped out. You've been here for a whole 5 months. You have no idea what all has happened in the past. Your entitled to your "oh stuff happens, whatever, get over it" opinion, but you're also speaking from very little experience of the things that go on around here. A LOT of totally ridiculous stuff happens on a regular basis, and it's gotten WAY old. So if you're able to just "get over it" then good for you, but don't tell everyone else not to be upset about it just because you haven't gone through or lost out on as much.

To the sour pusses who think it's so easy to run a site like this and are still mad about things you "lost and can't get back" - you didn't LOSE anything other than time spent making pixels. You can't put your items or sP in your pocket and go down to the local store and you would have spent your time here ANYWAY most likely. How many of you play other games on your computer? WoW anyone? If WoW servers crash, do THEY go and try to figure out what you'd done in the interim? NO. They roll it back and you go redo all you did before again. I've played comp games (not online) and had my comp crash and lost EVERYTHING. NO backup anywhere. At least they had SOMETHING to go back to here.
And to those who keep mentioning that the last time they said they hope it never happens again - well GET OVER IT.
Things happen that are often beyond the control of the people running the site. They are not omniscient and can't watch EVERYthing ALL the time or they'd get nothing new done.
They trusted the data company and the equipment to do what they paid for and it failed. That could happen to ANY company ANYwhere - and has.
All they can do is the best they are able to try to make sure it won't happen, but there's NEVER going to be a "guarantee" it won't.
If you're so upset over pixels on a computer screen, then go outside and do something else instead of griping here.

There are "other" sites out there who wouldn't DO that. *cough*neo*cough* So you should be grateful for what you've gotten and remember that Keith and Alx and the rest are HUMAN. They will learn to be even more diligent about the backups now, I'm sure, but there's still only so much that can be done.

Thanks that the site is running again, but it's just so frustrating that the one I did to get those achievements were all gone and the sP that I kept on my shop for a long time were gone too. And those things I won on the auction for the first time were also gone.... and the effort I gave to buy some food on Main Shops and sell it on my own shop. But we can't blame anyone for this. But I'm still glad Subeta is running again!
I'm actually kinda annoyed. I lost 6 or 7 million due to this, and my HA is a zombie again while I was wearing a mask. But I guess they're trying their best, and the 500 cash shop credits were a nice gift. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" />

Oh. My. God. This cost me SIX achievements (not all of them were the love ones so all this making it easier to get them stuff doesn't matter), and a bunch of stats for my pet, and a bunch of sp for items I got and sold before the rollback which means I won't get the sp or items back.
I'm SO tired of this. Last time it happened you guys wiped out an entire gallery I'd been working on almost non-stop for days before the rollback. I never got those items or the sp back. And last time you said it would never happen again.

Well I am quite certain Subeta team knows this is not empty whining! Some got hit harder than others, for many who work a LOT time itself is a precious resource! Better to vent, accept what happened and then move on! Well for those of you that have the time to make up for your loss congrats, but see someone of us who already had the achievement from working hard on it all weekend and now have lost it dont have the time during the week to make up their loss because of work.
