It's my turn to pester you all now about internet safety and security. ;)
As part of our normal security procedures, we are asking you to please change your password immediately if you have not done it in the past month. (This is a good idea for any and all websites you are a member of, and not just Subeta.) Please be sure to select a secure password; don't use your birthday, your dog's name, or something similarly easy to guess.
Any users who have not logged in within the past month are having their passwords automatically reset. If you've just come back from vacation and are unable to log into your account, please use the password request tool, and be sure you have emails sourced from Subeta.net on your safe/contacts list to ensure that it is not trashed as spam by your email provider. Please give the server and your email provider sufficient time to deliver the email.
If you have repeatedly tried the password request tool, given it plenty of time to be delivered, and still aren't having any luck, you will need to email [email protected] to begin the identity verification process required for an account retrieval.
If you're already hitting the comment button to ask if this applies to you, please don't. If you are in doubt, change it!
Thank you for your continued support of Subeta, and have a fun and internet-safe day. :)

Actually, Keith sells all our passwords on ebay then posts these messages afterwards.
Joke ;D It's just a standard security measure which staff post every now and then because they want us to not be hacked/want to reduce the number of users getting hacked. If you're worried about forgetting passwords it should be safe to write them on a post it or something as long as it's not bank account or something like that. xD

He's submitted a ticket. But if there's a security issue with the site then surely we should all be told about it?

I always forget, so I'm happy they post this for us. If they didn't I would totally forget, cuz I am so busy doing this and that, my memory flies out the window, LOL
Either way I think that if they had a security problem they should just go ahead and say it. But if you do use the same passwords on other sites that you care about, you're just asking for it. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" />

Even the best passwords can be figured out eventually. Especially if you use it in more than one place. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif" border="0" />

Does this have anything to do with the Beladen virus?
I'm not sure if that thing can steal passwords, but I'm just wondering...

I never change my passwords, and I forgot my old one. Thank god I took a wild guess and got it right. XD
Is it bad for your computer to remember the password? IE always asks if it should remember the pw or not.

Thanks for the reminder, it's always good to update passwords once in a while.
I think the last time I changed it was like two or three months ago.
I think the last time I changed it was like two or three months ago.

I only recently joined. And my password is incredibly hard. But, does this have to do with the downtime yesterday?
Question, When you say we should change non-subeta passwords. Is that for an Actual Reason or just like a "best practices" kind of thing?
I changed my pw, but now everytime I go to wardrobe it prompts for a pw :/ And then still doesnt let me in?

I have a complex password so I'm not going to bother. I'll change it in another month or so, but I believe I'm safe for now. Thanks for the reminder, though. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_happy.gif" border="0" />

Love how you told us it was the end of the world if something happens, then you smiled, Keith! <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_grin.gif" border="0" />
Ah, good thing I just changed my passwords for nearly every community I'm in a few days ago! Thanks for reminding us though!
Thanks for the reminder! This is one of the reasons why I love this site! It's so user-friendly!
Its so no one figures it out, like in case you have a big mouth. Like you always say I LOVE MY DOG HE RULES MY WORLD! And someone asks what's the dog's name? Yeah, you're screwed. Then again, that's also stupidity....

It's not mandatory, just good internet security to make sure that your password is changed.
If you don't change it, any security problem that happens falls on you <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" />.

Guys, it's standard procedure. There's no need to freak out, like <a href="/users/mbif" rel="mbif"><img src="http://images.subeta.net/icons/staff.gif" border="0">mbif</a> said. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" />

This is just a standard security measure, there's nothing to panic about. Sorry if I freaked anyone out. xD
Hmm, thanks for reminding me about that. I always forget to change my password. Nothing to be worried about people. You should do this once a month for a number of reasons. Also, delete your cookies is a good thing to.

Thanks for posting this <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />.
Oh my, better go change my password...for everything <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_sigh.gif" border="0" /> sigh Thanks for keeping us in the loop though C:
