Nobody really wants to hide from their friends. It's just there are times when you don't want to talk and just want to chill out without having to deal with other people.
Yay that others feel sociable 24 hours a day but I for one certainly don't.
My friends are my friends because they accept that. And I adore them because they feel the same way. Much as I love them to bits I like my peace and quiet at times and I want to be able to pop on, train and run back to study without people feeling I am ignoring them.
It's a great addition, and my little luffs will always know how to get hold of me if they really need :*

This is a good idea, I don't need it personally, but I can totally see why a lot of people would want it <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_happy.gif" border="0" /> I think sometimes people just want a little space afterall. Thank you.

This one also doesn't let the player see you on the "# friends online" think when they hover over it.

ya i noticed when I change to bad word filter it doesnt get rid of the "F" word on the page....not that i care...just odd <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" /> stealth mode for uninterrupted quests...or loner days...like it.
Also having stealth mode be the default is kind of annoying, if waiting for a username to be cleared, seeing if someone running a thread has been online, etc. :|

Yeah, I thought this too. I would always see people with the online status "hidden"... I don't get what's so different about this, or why you would want to hide from your friends. If you have people that are "annoying" and "constantly message" you or whatever...... well apparently it's too hard to ignore people.

Oh nooo... stealth is the default so now I can't tell how long the name I want has been offline!!! Hope that part gets changed or it'll be a prob when anyone is looking to change names.

I think it's a good idea, especially if you want to do quests without being bothered...I mean maybe not 24/7, but it does come in handy
I like it sometimes, but now a few of my friends are gonna have it on all the time and i'll be ripping my hair out trying to figure out when they're online.

I'm pretty sure I won't be using this feature, I like talking to my friends. I'm sure my daughter will want to thank you though. How should I know? Some people just want privacy and don't want people to see that they are online. The only people I see having a problem with this seem to be the ones that don't like the idea of people hiding from THEM.

I have a slightly different take on this...and I DO like the new option! <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> My take is that I like to log on in the morning and just pop in and out to train my pet, do the odd shop check, etc throughout the day. If my friends see that I'm logged on and send me a comment, but I don't respond because I'm not really here at the moment, it looks like I'm ignoring them. This way I can be stealth most of the time...and then change the option to show I'm here when I'm going to be playing for an hour or so, in which case it would be great to hear from my friends <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />
I agree with PokeishAnna. If you just wanna have your own time and don't want to talk with your friends, just don't answer them that day. Take it another day to say that you wasn't feeling chatty at all and apologize.

I love how everyone is equating wanting a few uninterrupted moments with a flawed friendship. Sometimes people just want to be left alone. Simple as that.

I have to say that it does make me kind of sad to think people would want to hide from their friends. If you want to hide from your friends then you shouldn't have friends at all.
It should at least come automatically disabled so taht you don't have to do it... especially for people who won't see this.

I was wondering is it an automatic feature where everyone is put on stealth mode or can we choose to turn it off. I just got online and my status says hidden when I never hid myself at all is confused <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_happy.gif" border="0" />.

I too really don't see the point in this idea. I can't understand why people don't realize that it's your choice to decide when to reply to comments even if your friends see you online and even when your profile status says your online. I don't hide from anyone as I don't like to hide from my friends when I get on here. I will reply to friends when I feel I need too, I won't just drop what I'm doing and reply.

Not sure I see the point of hiding from your friends. XD True, yes there is always the annoying person who bothers you as someone previously stated. However, you could always opt to NOT put them on your friends list so they can't see you're on anyway by being hidden. But really, why put someone on your friends list if you are just going to hide from them. o.O

It's kind of strange that enabled stealth mode seems to be the default. Might want to change that.
