I really like this one. The story was unexpected and interesting and the TC is nice. I'm also a big fan of nicely done overlay edits and this one is lovely.

It might be a long shot but maybe the original poster meant the comment positively? I adore simple, minimalistic layouts and would use simple as a compliment, not something in the negative.
Anyway, congrats! I really like this one haha as I said I love love simple, clean looking layouts and this is done wonderfully. I also like the description; it was just the right length to give me enough info about the pet without me getting bored haha.

Paintz when someone fails to be constructive or offer any sort of congratulations in their comment on the spotlight news post then yeah in my opinion it deserves to be questioned.
