The new one isn't perfect (in my opinion), but it is an improvement over the old one. this design plays well to keep the spirit of the old one and still update the design. I like that the stripe color is carried over into the shading on the head wings (or whatever those are on it's head). Nice job overall!

I love love LOVE it! If I knew about these pretty kerubis last week I wouldn't have coloured my kerubi Shannan sprectrum but would have waited for the revamp and coloured her a basic colour.

I don't like it at all. It looks like it's turned from cat to bunny; the ears are rather floppy, and the face shape reminds me of a rabbit (the fluffy cheeks?). The wings on the head look like that of a bird's just plasted there. I think the tilted head and the eyes looking away in the old version is much cuter/more appealing. The new art is great, but the old one had so much more..character. That kind of playing innocent look was what gives the pet it's appeal. Maybe try to keep the pose - particularly the face - closer to how it was?

You know, I think I'm going to have to agree with the majority here. :/ The front arms are rather bulky, the tail looks plastic-y and I sort of miss the happy go lucky cat like vibe it used to have. But I am liking the fact that the Kerubi is finally getting some much needed TLC and I'm sure that the artist in charge of the species will be able to fix it up a little. ;3 Otherwise, this is very nice.

I'm liking the new revamp. I don't own any kerubi but I say it was about time they got their revamp. This fits better with the newer colorations for kerubi and the updates to some of the revamped colors.<br><br>One thing I did kind of notice though, the eyes seems to look different with the shading some how.. Maybe it was just due to a different artist who didn't do the updates to the old colors to the pets? I think that is the case as well as the shading style XD

Eh, I think it looks great with those big anime eyes. And everything has big eyes isn't anime... things can have large eyes in the "natural" world as well. Despite the fact that subeta is a fantasy world at its best... <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/smiley_xface.gif" border="0" /> Anywho! I love the new revamp! To tell the truth, I didn't really see any difference except the coloring is done beautifully better and fluffier. Yes, it does look a bit more neutral mooded in comparison to the really happy, but I personally really love that. Gives more expansion on character development. Not everyone has a happy go lucky kerubi and its the common pose anyways. XD It does feel like it's leaning more to the left instead of buoyantly up like in the original, but meh, that's probably the only thing that kind of made my eyes go "If I really had to nitpick on something would it be this?". Yay for new pet revamps! THANKS SO MUCH! Seriously, some things needed a revamp very badly. O____O;

The shading and fur detail are very nice! But something about the proportions seems off to me, kind of as if the chest fluff was a little too big or the tail not quite big enough. I'd also have to agree with other posters that it looks like it's slumping a little.

The old one had a more feline vibe. Which wasn't a bad thing in the least bit, so I'd say don't stray from it. I love the old one alot the new one I don't like alot of things about it. First of I don't like the face and the posture. The new one is hunching I like how the old one is sit up right. With the face I liked how the old one had pointier eyes and how the new one is not smiling that much, I live the old expresstion bettrer. Also, I like how the old one has alot messier fur the new kerubi is to... tidy. I love how on the old kerubi's hair on it's head is sitcking up insted of down like on the new one. Also on the new one... for some reason... I think its to realistic and I don't like that. I liked how the kerubi was cat-like too. Look at them together. See what I meen on the poll.

Since I don't own a kerubi I'm probably not going to pick at as many things as kerubi owners would, but there's only really one thing about the revamp that I don't particularly like and that's the expression. The face on the old art made the kerubi look more happy or slightly excited about something. The new art gives off a more neutral expression which I suppose might be helpful for some. To each their own in that regard.
Besides that one point this revamp looks absolutely gorgeous!

I like it, but I agree with some that the eye is too big/anime/innocent. I like the smaller eye that Lazeros just posted actually. Otherwise it is a fantastic revamp and a nice improvement while keeping the general feel of the original design.

MUCH better. Lazeros, I don't really like the nose on your version much. The eyes are fine and look more realistic, but the nose makes it look kind of stupid. I don't think there's anything wrong with the one it has now.

I like the revamp a lot, but Some stuff is annoying me. The arm looks strange, sort of muscular and thick. (sort of creepy on a cute furry animal! XD) The tail, on the otherside, is smaller than the old one. My own opinion, but it's not nearly as fluffy looking! How sad! <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/smiley_sadface.gif" border="0" /> But, i love the new shading, it looks so much more professional. In general, the pet looks loads better, it's just those little things that can drive me crazy.

While the detail is greater by far, I have some personal issues with the revamp. It looks hunched over a tad, and it doesn't seem to be smiling as much. The old one seems more fun, more confident, more certain of itself; the new one seems to be shrinking back from something.

Hm, I like this new look for the kerubi a lot. The detail is great, the shading looks a lot nicer, I love the less cartoonish style. I just have to nitpick one thing. The posture, how the kerubi's head is tilted forward, seems a little awkward. To me it seems that with its tail helping its balance it wouldn't need to be leaning forward quite so much. I'm probably just looking at the image too hard, but I felt I should mention it. Beautiful artwork still. I'll be keeping my kerubi for quite a long time.

The only real issue I have is with the mouth being too small for my taste. Aww, this is adorable, <a href="/users/Rah" rel="Rah"><img src="http://images.subeta.net/icons/staff.gif" border="0">Rah</a> ! So far the only few things I notice are that the base of the tail is enormous right now, and that it could use to be sitting a little more straight up like the old kerubi, with a slightly tilted head. The old (very very very old art ugh) one looks more alert and ready to play, imho, while this one is slightly more haunched over, giving me a feel of "I'm not certain if I should go play with the others".
Also, moving the eyeshine to our left would make more sense since the light source is on top left! <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_heart.gif" border="0" /> Wonderful art, wonderful shading Rah-cupcake, as always <3

This revamp of the default Kerubi really fits with all the revamps of the special colors we've been getting. I see some people saying that a few things need to be changed to make this new one "happier" or "less docile" but I have to disagree. The old default Kerubi design in my opinion didn't really fit with the special colors because the default was playful while the others looked more calm and docile (with the exception of a few like Bloodred and Spectrum of course).

I love the new suggested kerubi design. I only have a couple suggestions for it. The forelegs on the front legs are a little fat looking. And the back frontleg looks a little curved inward, when I think it should be a little straighter of a line. I really love the design and hope the artist doesn't take this as harsh comments. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> Keep up the good work!

I think the ears on the revamp could use a little bit of tweaking. The ear on the right looks kind of off, like the front part is curving in sharply towards the back. It also looks just a smidge too far down the side of it's head.

I feel the lineart detailing the fur on the kerubi is too "simple" and...I dunno how to put it, plastic-y? "Hard"? It doesn't look a lot like fur imo where there are quite a few other pet revamps (and newer arts in general) that have superior art in this regard. The shading is quite nice, but I don't think the lines itself do it much justice. I realize the kerubi is supposed to have a slightly more "cartoonish" look to it than some of the other pets, but I still think it lacks texture compared to a lot of the other revamps and newest arts we've seen. I also think more contrast in the shading is necessary, at least in the areas that aren't white. The lack of contrast makes it look overall more flat.
While I don't particularly agree with the style choice (simpler anatomy, the more cartoonish look), I realize that that is just how the kerubi is. I have no actual qualms with the anatomy aside from personal taste in style. I do, however, think that the style can be retained while making it overall looking more "smooth" and three-dimensional. I think, if the revamp were to go through as is, it would stick out a bit among the newest pet art here on Subeta.

Ahhhh omg omg omg cuuuuute! ... *ahem* I luff it! I have to say I find myself approving of all the minute changes you find in the new Kerubi. One of the criticisms I had for the old Kerubi (which has now been fixed) is that you couldn't see the back/tummy between the front and hind legs of the old one. The body was too shortened, with the front and back legs so close they were pressing on each other. The new kerubi is more fluid and gives the impression of a cat-like body. The fluffyness on the chest and face looks... well.. fluffy, rather than just a hint of fluffy through less detailed lineart. Again, nice touch. The ears and face are more realistic. And the tail. OMG the tail. One big fluffle that I want to glomp and huggle. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_happy.gif" border="0" />

If we can slide into a "newest", of this revamp, we could fall back into a slightly more feline reminiscent of the Old image, but with the updated look, I would be very happy. My greatest complaint at the spot update of just the Angelic Kerubi was that it lost that "kitty-ness" and the character in the face and body. I'm not trying to offend the artist who did this spot update so long ago, it's just that I felt it lost a lot of the character that had attracted me in the first place to this species.

I voted for the new one, but I really think I prefer it for shading mostly, the pose isn't the same, the old one is actually more fluid and anatomically actually looks more correct, (other than the massive haunches of the old that is). The new pose looks meek because of how it's hunched and looks as though it would make the kerubi off balance, whereas the old looked extremely proud and balanced. Also, I think the eyes would look better if they were slightly more rounded rather than one being rounded and one having two points to it.
As others mentioned, I also think the new pose looks sort of like it is hunched over and that the expression is just not quite as cute.

I actually really, really like this revamp...the only thing that bugs me a bit is it's smile; and how it kind of looks like it fuzzes out for a bit right before the end. Okay, a lot of the revamps I've been pretty unhappy with. The Kougra for sure, I think whoever revamped that one was a dog artist, not a cat artist. But this Kerubi, whoever revamped it got it right on the mark. It has all the shy-sweet-innocent qualities that a Kerubi should have, awesome awesome job guys

Maybe it's just me, but the expression seems kind of blank or, judging by the eyebrows, a tad worried. I'm not sure about the darker grey body. Maybe lighten it up a bit to see? I like it, but I do have a suggestion. The ears look long and almost rabbity. I like the big ears on the first one. I suggest waking them a bit wider to take the rabbit edge off it it. The length would be fine if they were bigger.

Kerubi's are my favorite pet, and I always disliked how inconsistent the base pets looked to the pose variation colours. But this is fantastic, my only crit is the shading is a tad too light, although I understand it's hard to do darks with grey I feel the thrid shade could be just a touch darker

I'm not terribly good at articulating critique well, it usually ends up vague and so not that helpful, but I guess I'll give it a shot. Some minor things I could throw out are:
-Outline seems to have too much emphasis.
-Head/face is a little wonky (I think the skull could be shaped better as it looks like its "collapsing" in some areas making the left* eye seem odd, for example.)
-Chest is too "pointy", I understand wanting to emphasize fluff but I think it could be shaped a bit better.

I'm not sure what kind of animal the Kerubi is based off of, but there's something not quite right about the new ears. They look a little disproportionate to the head, if you ask me.

This revamp looks amazing. Much better than the old one. The fur and shading are drawn so much better and I love the wings on top of the head. The body structure is more 'realistic' and by that I mean proportional and I am happy the smirk was taken off. Love the eyes too, they look better when they aren't staring up at something.

I like this new one a lot better. I liked kerubis before but this is pretty awesome - the shading and details look a whole lot better and the art style is much nicer, I think. I only have a few minor complaints, but I'm still planning on voting for the new one. The neck on the new one looks a little bit thick, in my opinion, and its expression does look a little bit worried. But I looooove how the pose stayed basically the same and how it still keeps the idea of the pet. Thank you guyssss. :3

Oh my... I adore it! xD Been a Kerubi fan since they were first released, and I'm glad to see such a beautiful update. x3 Although, I do have some relatively minor crits. On the face, where there are the two teal dots--on the old one, they go around the bottom of the eye slightly, and I really liked that. The new one keeps this trend on only one eye--the right (further away) eye. The dots by the left eye seem to just go straight down. Overall, it makes the two set look like they're slanted parallel or something of the sort. o.o; Hard to explain, but I'd like it if they were adjusted, even though it's not my decision to make. ^^; My only other issue was the eyebrow--I like the longer, curved eyebrow on the old one. The new one is really tiny. xD Those little things aside, it's an amazing update--I love how it was colored and shaded, it looks so fluffy and cuddle-able! Also, I'm really happy to see it still has a little smile on its face.

You know, I'm usually not too pleased about revamps, and the second I saw it was a Kerubi, my heart dropped a little, but this is one of the first re-dos that I've really liked. Honestly, in looking at them side-by-side, I'm really happy with the (inevitable) change. (Especially since the Kerubi is one of my favourite pets.)

I much prefer the new kerubi to the old one. Its face is more open and looks as it if it is inviting you to play, whereas the older version looked a bit sour as if it was enjoying a private joke to which no-one else was invited. Brilliant bit of drawing - congratulations to the artist.

I agree with others saying that an arched eybrow would be better. Also the elbows on the forelegs are at different hights, the left needs to be brought down or the right up, the contrast of the white/grey could possibly be a bit higher too, a very pale grey rather than a medium grey.
But I do love the revamp, and the shading is beautiful, just a couple of things that might need to be addressed though.

Um, my response was "SQUEEEEEEE!". But here is one little bit of crit: I like the somewhat brighter colors on the old one. I realize the base colors are the same and that toning it down makes it look better shaded, but it's just not quite as vibrant. There's also something to be said for the more optimistic tilt of the eyebrows on the current version. But, you know, I voted for the new because I'd like it better even without tweaks.<br />

You know I always was a fan of the Kerubi, even when I fist joined some 4 years ago. I bought my chibi Kerubi way back when the potions were 500,000sp and remember that old poll to change just the chibi Kerubi. Is that image going to be used after the reramp goes through?

I voted new, though I do like the expression on the old one better. If there's anyway you could make the eyes more like the old one, and make it look a little happier, it'd be perfect.

It looks great! I like that the right ear has been a little elongated so it can be seen better. I do miss the bright red eyes, but I suppose the more subdued eyes fit the new art better.

This is perfect and a HECK of a lot better than the old one. Its nice to see that the pose is kept the same so it has not completely changed. It now looks a bit less childish in that cartoony sort of way... If that makes sense? Basically somewhat more realistic anyways. xD
