Havent seen mine yet, but I have seen like 10 repeats. Were there really not that many entries? I can't believe that. I have seen some amazing ones but a lot of them I have no clue who they are so I have to go by ref pics. Just because I dont know who an entry is doesnt mean it isnt good...I just judge on the ones that are closest to the ref pic. Sorry people without a pic!

Thanks Starshadow - there is no Hellgirl reference picture, at least not officially anyway. And there a lot of folks with reference pics that I think did NOT do a good job of matching their HA to the ref. Is that b/c they couldn't? Is that b/c they thought they HAD to include a ref pic? Is it b/c they thought they did a good job of matching the pic? I'm not against ref links, but they shouldn't be mandatory. If you don't know who their HA is supposed to be, don't vote for that HA. Or vote for one you think looks awesome for whatever reason, despite if it matches some pre-conceived notion. At real cosplays people don't carry around reference pics; either you know them or you don't.

And once again, I had quite a few repeats of HAs I have already seen. Now I KNOW I haven't seen all the HAs there are too see so I wonder what's up. I also haven't seen ANY of my friends' HAs either.......

Yes I agree that reference images are a good idea as I have no clue who 95% of these people are supposed to be, even with the reference image. But it can't be required to enter since so many don't have any pictures to show.

the point of a ref image is so that even if people don't know who your trying to cosplay as, if they see your image and see that your HA is done well in accordance to it they can still vote for you. This makes it fair for people from lesser known fandoms. Personally I don't vote for any character without a ref image unless its so amazing that not only do I know it but I squee with delight as well.

Yeah, I haven't had a round since yesterday afternoon that didn't have at least 1 HA I'd already seen in it. I know there were thousands entered and would like to see some different ones. And haven't seen mine once. I hope the randomness of the entrants showing is regulated somehow so some don't get shown a ton of times and others not at all.
And I can't see how they could require a reference picture since it's not possible for many. Lots of characters are from books or games that don't have a picture or of characters that the player can't find a good picture of. For one popular character I had considered I looked on the internet and even though I found lots of pictures there wasn't one decent one good enough for a reference and she was wearing a different dress in every picture, dark red in one, white in another and blue and silver in another picture. So I gave up and picked someone else.
Hmm, have they said how long the voting goes on or when the winner will be announced? Is it all week? Hope so,

I didn't put a reference BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ONE. I hope they are NOT mandatory next time. If you don't know who it is, don't vote for it. You can't know everyone.

I just had a selection of Rainbow Brite, Willy Wonka and Cap't Kirk. Soooooo hard to choose!!!

But like others, I have seen one HA many times, over and over again and it's not a very good one, lol. I know it's random, but doesn't that mean some may show up all the time and some not at all? I'm getting sick of seeing that HA when I know there are tons I haven't seen it.

Some HAs I've seen the 2nd or 3rd time... others I still miss...

I wish the 20 entrants we have to vote on each hour weren't random but in some kind of order. I've seen 3 HAs at least twice now in only the first few hours. So HAs that are shown randomly more often than others have a higher chance of getting more votes just because they're seen more often. And if it is totally random then some won't even show up at all. Strange. I also wish they'd had categories or something.

Yeah, Subeta has this weird thing were the file has to be .png not .PNG, because for reason their system sees it as two different kinds of files. I had so much trouble putting up a banner before I learned that.

Probably my most favorite thing about this voting system is that the names aren't shown, and there are no links to their pages, so popular Subetians won't get picked all the time over some lesser-known user with a better outfit. Subeta mods/planners/people of general Subeta rule are royalty.

I couldn't submit a ref image because when I was uploading my .png image, it kept telling me to upload a .gif or .png. So, I wrote a description on who I cosplayed as. I wonder why we're not able to see the descriptions.

Anyway, there are so many great entries out there! When I vote, I usually have two-three favourites.

I'm so glad that this is laid out nice and neat. I was afraid that there'd be some sort of flaw in the voting system, but I think it's perfect this way. o:
I'll be voting based on whether or not the cosplay is accurate, more than whether or not I know the character. <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> I've already voted for a few characters I don't even know, simply because they were such good cosplays (when compared with their references!). I went back through the news posts and unless some are missing or I am skipping them, there was only an announcement about the contest on the 18th and the announcement about the voting starting today.

There are so many good entries, but I missed out submitting mine because I couldn't decide who to cosplay until like 20 minutes after voting started. xD

Hmmm... I'm enjoying voting and the HA's people have come up with are amazing.

However, I'm curious how the voting is going to work out. Team Nico has more than twice the number of members, so it seems to me like they'll obviously come out in the lead on this one simply because they're more likely to have twice the number of cosplayers entered.

Whoever made a Gengar cosplay, I voted for you as it looked tricky was pretty unique and I'm in a very pokemon mood(I'm trying to beat LeafGreen and finally decided to play Pearl). Though it was hard to decide!

I'm kind of hoping there will be something small, maybe an achievement, awarded to everyone who participated regardless of how many votes/points we notch up. Doh, I get it now. Explanation in case anyone is slow like me: The set of entries each person sees is different. The timer for each person is also different (basically, you set your own timer based on when you vote. The entries refresh when your timer expires). Thus, the times the entries are displayed don't matter since it's (I assume) random and different for each person. Yeah, if you're unlucky and only 100 people vote at 3 am in the morning and yours in that set of (well now I don't know how many are displayed each time, like 20?) 2000, then that's that, but you aren't assigned to a specific time slot.

If you get on more, you get to see more rounds and vote more. If you only get on twice, you only get to see two "rounds".

That was a hard choice to pick just one. I had two that were really well done.

However, I'm glad I included a reference pic even though it is in black and white lol I don't even think there is any official artwork in color for the armor of the character I'm cosplaying.

Aw, it's sad you can't go back and look at the entries again after voting.
Also, it looks like the counter counts down from 1 hr from when you voted. Keith, would it be possible if there was somewhere to show us how many votes our avs have so far? :3 Odd request, but it's just that I'd like to know when to stop restocking because I want to end on an even number (2500). I'd be so sad if I had 2498 points and four votes. XD

Unless, the points are added to the /team/, and not us (which would then go to the team)?

Happy to see not everyone had a reference. I made mine up. But I do wonder - there aren't as many people on at 2PM as say, 7PM and there's barely anyone on at 3AM. It seems the time of day you show up will figure greatly in how many votes you get as well as other factors. Hmmmmmmm

@SEOUL I don't see how that would happen unless you memorized the cosplays of every member of your team. The voting page doesn't show usernames or what team they are on <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />
