Nothing really happens in August, does it? It's basically the most boring month of the year. No fun holidays unless you've found that secret island that just randomly moves around the Subeta map.
No celebrations, no jubilees, really, nothing. It's just really hot. Really, really hot. And humid. You can't forget the humidity! Hot and humid. That is August.

Their motives are unknown, but they have been very adamant that everyone should leave the islands as soon as possible.
We spoke with tribal leader and high priest, User not found: kahaleitzli:
"This ragtag group has shared the islands with us for some time - They have a hidden port here, and we have been unable to smoke them out despite our best efforts. It seems that it is their delight to harass us at every turn, even on high holy days. What a disgusting display."
Pirate User not found: captain jacques could not be reached for comment at this time.

Titania McGee with Channel 5 Action News, your BEST source for up to date information.Today's top story: They thought they were safe while visiting the Omen Islands for the festival, but it seems that Amy, Emma and Charity have all been kidnapped from the festivities by the ragtag crew of The Freyalise, the very same pirates who invaded the island celebration only two nights ago.
Channel 5 managed to get a hold of the captain of The Freyalise, Fishbreath Jacques, who had this to say:
Well, how be ye, pretty lady? *hic* How would ye like to shiver me timbers?
*hic*
Oh, aye. We mean th' lasses no harm, 'n they be in a safe place. Th' Omen Islanders would have ye believe that their "celebration" be light-hearted an' fun, but what they haven't shared be th' details 'o 'tis Final Offerin'. Th' schpirit that be usually sacrificed to th' avatar 'o th' sea be none other than a young lass. We merely took these girlsh fer their own protec--*hic*-- their own securi--*hic-- their own welfare.
Th' shtories these Islanders spin shmell worse than th' garlic Angrybeard puts in me dinner. A bunch 'o slimy snails, they be.
Aye, snails would be quite jolly fer dinner. Angrybeard! Whar be ye, ye foul cur?!
We are currently looking to speak to the tribal leader of the islanders, User not found: kahaleitzli to get a statement on these rather harsh accusations.

How terrible. We would never commit such an unspeakable act!
I must admit, I am deeply offended that you would take the word of a drunken pirate over that of a holy man. And if that weren't bad enough, a drunken pirate who has kidnapped guests of our party. When have we held you here against your will? What have we done to you to make you distrust us so easily?
These same pirates have terrorized us for years, and take delight in attacking our citizens. Why, even humble User not found: temictzin , a common fisherman and no threat to their ways, was blindly attacked and scarred. And great User not found: songaa has earned his honor by defending our home from these buccaneers.
Perhaps my brother was right when he said it was wrong to invite outsiders to our celebration - In his madness, there is a perfect moment of clarity, it seems - You will never understand us.
Next year, I think I will not be so eager to invite you back.

Hello, I'm
Titania McGee with Channel 5 Action News, your BEST source for up to date information.War broke out today in the Omen Islands between the native Islanders and the neighboring pirates, following the kidnapping of Emma, Charity and Amy from Islander festivities. The captain of The Freyalise, User not found: captain jacques claims that these girls were kidnapped for their own safety to prevent them from being a Final Offering to an Avatar of the Sea at the end of the Islander's ritual. The leader of the Islanders, User not found: kahaleitzli has stated that these claims are unappreciated and untrue, citing out their hospitality in welcoming outsiders to their sacred festival as evidence of their innocence.
Unable to reconcile their differences, the two have waged war on one another and urge all members of Subeta to aid them in their fight, not only by battling in hand-to-hand combat, but also by crippling the enemy's stock of supplies by buying up as many items as possible from all of Subeta's shops. The more items bought by one faction will spell certain doom for soldiers of the other, causing them to starve, run out of weapons, or go broke trying to afford their supplies at such inflated prices!
A booth has been set up in Delphi for all those interested to declare their allegiance for the Islanders or the Pirates. User not found: kahaleitzli has stated that those who wish to continue the celebration with his people may do so on the shores of the Omen Islands, only.
Channel 5 News will continue to cover this story as it develops and would like to let the families of Emma, Charity and Amy know that our thoughts are with them in this terrible time.

Rule Update
Just a few small updates. The Restock War now gives you more points depending on the rarity of item you are restocking. Higher rarity items give more points. The item must still be at least rarity 45 to count.
And there is now a place to get your facepaint removed.

Tribal leader, High Priest Kahaleitzli, recently agreed to issue a statement to us regarding the final offering that has created such a stir.
It's a spiritual offering. I'm not sure how I can explain it more clearly to outsiders, who appear to be so faithless. If your guardian, Shinwa, required the assistance of a citizen to ensure that you remained protected from the evils of this world, would you resist her?Regardless, this has drawn out so long, and the stars are beginning to come out of alignment. We have very little time left to complete the offering, and it certainly can't be completed while the pirate riffraff defile the area. I implore those loyal to the Islands to end it, either through victory or submission.
As our window of time gets smaller and smaller, I can see the seas already becoming more turbulent, and understand that it is my responsibility to make things right. I urge everyone to seek shelter as soon as possible.
What could be the meaning of this cryptic message? Channel 5 will continue to watch this story as it develops.

Good Afternoon! I'm Titania McGee with Channel 5 News, your BEST source for up to date information.
The story of the day is that the war has ended! As the seas begin to grow more and more restless, the crew of The Freyalise has decided to turn back toward the shores of Delphi to get Emma, Charity and Amy back to land safely, thus ending the war. Although it looks like a retreat on the part of the pirates, my sources have told me that the Islanders have been defeated, despite putting up an excellent fight.
It has been rumored that both Captain Jacques and High Priest Kahaleitzli have rewards planned for the soldiers who fought valiantly at their sides. Channel 5 will keep up with this and any details as the story continues to develop, as always.

Staff Only Items
This note is for anyone who adds or edits items! There is an option for making items Staff Only within the admin panel when creating or editing items. It is preferred to use this radio option rather than manually typing in the rarity to ensure it is done properly. I have noticed some items that were meant to be staff only that were mistakenly noted at r400 or even r200. If we use this radio bubble properly, we will make fewer mistakes.
Please be careful! The bubble for the option you are choosing is on its left, not its right. The bubble to the right of Level 1 (Staff Only) is for Project Shogun, essentially a point of no return.
I would like for all NPC items we can think of to be marked as Level 1 (Staff Only) as soon as possible. I have gone through NPC avatar items, but unfortunately, I do not know the names of all of the battle NPC items. Help in this area would be appreciated.

Reward shops have opened for the Pirates and Islanders who fought in the Omen Islands War on Delphi's coast! Although the crew of The Freyalise is still on their journey to bring the girls home to safety and the Islanders are heading to their home, each faction has sent a liaison ahead to thank their friends for the efforts put forth in fighting for their cause. Make sure you stop by to collect your prizes soon, as the authorities in Delphi have only authorized these shops to be open for a short time.

Just a heads up that we will be performing some database maintenance today in order to reclaim some disk space back.
This might result in a few 5 minute periods where the site is down today, culminating in a downtime window sometime in the early am either tonight or tomorrow when we actually swap in the new database.
We're doing this to give us some breathing room in our free disk space and ensure the site stays fast!
