I'm the type of person who loves everything cute, and will almost always pick the cute option, so cute virus strains are the ones I prefer, however, some things can be spooky/gross and cute all at once (like the doll virus), and I'd probably pick spooky-cute over just cute most days.

By the virus skins I had voted for robots. I don't mind if Some skins has no the standard proportions. There a so much and te time of the strains will take each year longer. So there be always skins I like to got. It doesn't matter to get all of them.

It's something that could have been done before CWs. Now, it's no longer a thing that's viable.

@solsticespriteI don't remember if it was Fantine who used the phrase "it didn't work out" or someone else but I meant their relationship seemed like it just kind of got retcon'd away after the plot without a lot of explanation, not that I think they shoulda stayed together no matter what. I didn't remember most of those details, maybe I just wasn't paying attention or maybe I literally did just miss a news post about them.- at any rate the plot seems even less satisfying knowing all that! :P

@Mackenzi Skitters was clearly paying WAY more attention to Ecks, even though Fantine got infected and literally died for him. Fantine knows her worth, and she dumped him because she rightly figured he wasn't all that into her. If they wanna lie and say it was mutual they can, but that's not what I saw. To me, "it didn't work out" is consistent with that plot.

XD And seconding how odd it was that him and Fantine got a whole plot around their romance then suddenly dropped it because “it didn’t work out”. Really took the wind out of the sails of that event haha.

Oh man Skitters! I was weirdly attracted to him despite his grossness before his redesign, and now he's just gross sadly without the old charm, so it's nice to have the option of picking him with a caveat.

I love polls and surveys of any kind, no need for payment or a prize I just have this weird affinity for filling things out haha! Also it was really cool to see how much Subeta's demographic has shifted (though not surprising considering the last time the age poll was released).

I really didn't like this years strains. They were too graphic, too gross and kind of impossible to work an avie around. (Like the steam room one; why? How am I supposed to work with that?) I didn't see a point in getting any and it's a little too much work to get the ones of yesteryear, even though I do like the skeletal skins. I want the Pylot skin as well, but I'm kind of done with the avies we have in general. I know the undertaking would be huge but we really need more body diversity and posability. I'm so tired of the clubbed limbs and gigantic heads: fix this.
As for polls, love them but the rewards for taking them needs to be worth it. 10-500g isn't even a pittance, it's that minuscule.

Geode skin would be pretty darn cool. Crystallized mummies would also be neat. Personally I like any strain with an interesting progression, gross, cute, or otherwise. As long as its cool and feels like some kind of mutation is going on (Resident Evil comes to mind with its variety of different zombies), it's good.
I wish there was a "both" option for Louis and Skitters because I like them equally and I buy things based on what I need.

I loved Louis because I like his aesthetic more which I think is what the question was getting at based on items being involved in responses, but I really like Skitters' personality most. T-T Sorry Skitty.
NPC pets: I only really feel familiar with Luna.
Virus strains: I really like creative transitions that can get wild, but turn into something both spoopy and beautiful/cute. I like the variety we have now and only hope it continues.

I do wish there was an "none of the above" option on some of the polls. As for favorite virus? Seriously? I did like how Fevermore was close to being a threstral. But I also love some of the older viruses too. The age one I wish I'd answered it differently (I went honest and went "urh"; I come across as much younger than I am. oh well)

You know, now that I look at some of these poll questions it makes me wonder... is this like a foreshadowing to things to come? Like Zombie strains for next year, the hair question, maybe some new wig or wigs being made or at the very least styles. The lands question could be which land will get more love? And the NPC Pet question... maybe we'll get some new pet themed stuff down the road or some new interaction ideas? I'm just speculating here. And probably am off by a long shot.

I really like the cute and pretty zombie strains. I think there should be a good variety so it can appeal to more than just the horror-loving crowd. Grosseries is a weird one but I felt it was cool enough to snag. But any of the other ones this year are a bit too gross for me. Keep the gross, but please also have at least one that isn't so those of us who don't like it can still join the fun. (Although I have been completely emotionally exhausted so haven't been on much, but I wanted to chime in my 2 cents with the hope that I can be back to participating normally next year)

Also, I don't know... maybe it's just me, but I'm not really crazy about the idea of having cutesy innocent virus strains? I think maybe it'd be nice to add some cuter skins to the list of rewards for completing Louis' shop related achievements in the future maybe (or maybe making them purchasable using candy hearts even?), but to make viruses cute and innocent and awwww-worthy just sort of misses the point IMO. I get that they've technically always existed (Love Bug, Pinkie Patch, etc.) but those tend to be my least favorite types. I mean... the lore behind Survival is kind of serious. People died, didn't they? There's a Survivor's Memorial where we pay tribute. I like that the zombie side of Survival sort of balances out the saccharine side that's full of candy hearts and flowers and Louis L'Amour. I like that it feels like it has some weight to it... like I'm actually progressing along with an actual virus that could do actual harm to a person. And last I checked there is no virus or illness or disease in reality that makes you super cute and desirable to be around. They suck. They're no fun. Sometimes you see nothing at all, but they still suck for the person who has them. I like that people see zombie strains and recoil in horror or disgust. Lord knows if I saw a zombie walking around in real life, I'd do the same...
I get that everyone's entitled to their own opinions, and I respect that. But to me it's just missing the point. It blends the two sides of Survival too much, and I think the duality of it is what I love the most. There's something for the people who enjoy the cute love-y side of it, and there's something for those of us who don't... people who enjoy both sides equally get to enjoy both separately, and I suppose we luck out the most. My fiance doesn't understand the whole zombie thing, so he skips it entirely. I love it, and I go for the neatest looking gory strains that I can generally (Blistered Hearts was a big favorite, as was last year's Love Sucks!) If he wanted to do alchemy he'd just pick a strain and follow through with it, and either remove it when it was finished to save for later, or cover it up with the dozens and dozens of items that're capable of doing that. It's really not a big deal now that the skins are removable and savable for later.
That being said, I definitely DO support the idea of some purchasable (or reward-related) skins coming from Louis L'Amour... or having some more cutesy ones added to the zapper come Morostide time. And maybe it's just me, but I also kind of wish strains could be worn at any stage after we obtain them? I get that that'd amount to us having a crap ton of skins... but I LOVED Fevermore's progression last year until I saw the end result. And I loved Buzzkill's this year until I wound up looking like a piece of burnt up sourdough bread. It'd be neat to be able to wear our strains at the stage we wanted. It may also make it easier to work some of them into HA designs where clothing becomes near-impossible to wear. Just a thought!

Didn't really have my real choice for louis or skitters, because i'm fine with their designs, and I prefer skitters for the color schemes but I don't tend to like the torn/bloody/gore items, whereas i like the designs of louis's stuff but am not a big fan of pink and pastels..

My favorite strains are the ones which are spoopy, but have a certain amount of elegance too, like Clusterflux. My least favorite are the ones which change the body silhouette so much that they can't be dressed, like Bright Bite, and the "pretty" one tends to be hit-or-miss for me. This has been a great year for design that's spoopy but usable: The Vapors is a very original take on "zombie", Grosseries is pretty without hitting a note that strikes me as "cutesy" or "twee", and Lobotomeat is a lot of fun. I think trying to make a virus where the primary emphasis was on every stage being "pretty" would get you a super dull progression. Anybody who seriously can't stand being, like, in a cocoon for 14 hours before becoming a fluffy pink moth can just stick a background OVER their HA, a Genetech Secondskin and/or some overlays over that, and dress up as though they aren't infected at all.

I think these frivolous polls are much better than the serious ones we've had in the past e.g. voting on revamps. From what I remember the majority always voted for the shiny new option and the minority had to shout louder as they got buried in the numbers. For decisions that affect the site, discussions are better, and we had discussions about them regardless so no need for polls which tend to have foregone conclusions.
These polls are getting people talking about lore and have already lead to an NPC getting a new pet which is great! It bolsters the community and world building aspect which is something Subeta always needs.

Said it in the feedback thread and I'll say it here: you're on a pg13 site, you don't GET trigger warnings when we have things like roadkill pets, an entire Bloodred pet color, the ole' fetus pops and more. The point is not what zombie ideas are had, the point is how much whining is happening without personal responsibility for getting a skin so you can access a feature whether you like the skin or not.

Again. if you dislike my ideas, remember that if someone on staff should find them interesting, you don't have to get the resulting infection.

@Valiska - In that case, you're probably never going to access the Alchemist. Take the least bad option or leave it. It's not like you're stuck with the skin 24/7 like we used to; just take off the darn skin when you aren't seeing him.

@Jotaro I have considered Love Bug because it looks kinda like Mewberty (Star Vs the Forces of Evil), and I don't think I've seen Pinkie Patch before. Freckle Fever looks too much like somthing I'd see at my work, lol, I work in a hospital. (This may be why I don't do well with gore and body horror because it just makes me think about how much that must hurt and plus I get on Subeta to get away from tumors and traumas haha.)
But @Raven did this great HA with a cookie body mod and I started thinking of things that I would actually consider fun to go through instead of "is it tame enough to be bearable?" and I thought a virus that turns you into a beautiful sparkling crystal person, or a virus that turns you into a scrumptious looking pastry/cake/cookie, would actually be super fun for people like me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's getting tripped up on the Louis / Skitters poll. I'm not voting out of fear that either one or the other might get removed lol ;A; Also I like being able to pay for items in both sP and holiday currency. Heck, I would love it if there were Skitters equivalents for all holidays and events. Add that option to your polls 8)

As an average joe, I can verify that I love voting on pointless online polls. I think someone is underestimating how much people love putting their input in on inane ideas. Have a look at any twitter poll or even post that is like "like for this, retweet for that". People will do it. Subject matter rarely deters this. People like to have fun.

To those of you who will say this defeats the point of becoming a zombie: you don't have to get infected with this one, and things do not have to be ugly and gory to be horrifying. Sometimes they're more horrific if they aren't disgusting to look at.
(This is actually something I really want because I can't do alchemy unless I tough it out and become a zombie, and so far, that ain't happening.)

Gotta put my two cents about the actual polls themselves in the comments too.
For the virus strains I really like something that is a cool end result to work with. Like, I thought the progressions of this year's strains were REALLY cool, but I was pretty disappointed with the end results.
I wish there were pics for the NPC pets because I only remembered what some of those looked like and some I didn't even know existed. That said, if they're added now it wouldn't help all the people who already voted (like myself).
I love Skitters as a character more and his items, so that poll was easy for me, but I understand how a lot of people had trouble answering the question. It's not like I don't like the L'amour items, I just think the Zombie Den items are more multi-purpose. Also Skitters could use a revamp, and I would really like it if the Zombie Den was made...idk cooler? I don't know, but I think all the shops could have a little...something more? Discuss?

I think for the Louis or Skitters poll there should have been an option for liking both designs/their items. With the way the poll is going it doesn’t seem one is particularly favoured over the other. I wonder if adding a neutral/liking both sort of option would show that maybe the reason the results so far seem so squarely in the middle is because some people don’t genuinely prefer one of those characters.

And they don't have to vote if they truly do not feel like their opinion truly matters. Don't worry, if someone doesn't vote, they have no ground to stand on to bitch about things later. Polls can always include a neutral opinion option if need be.
If anything, I think people would be less inclined to answer a poll if there's no indication of what the purpose of the poll is in the first place. And if it's less serious, well, yeah, that means it's a waste of time in my book. But that's my stance, and we don't have to agree. It's great that polls have been brought back, but going forward, I would like to see them be used a bit more properly, to answer some real questions that truly do impact the site and what we as users want. I know, we have the suggestions forum but that's primarily from users; it's nice to have staff directly ask us for our input on an idea they might have. We should be able to help them out in the process. More heads are better than only a few.

@METROID some of these are just for fun, and i think they're more than merited to make polls of whatever they want. That and, doing fun ones I think has more than enough dragged people's attention toward them where I feel like there might of been lackluster interest before to fill them out. It's getting people in comments to have fun and joke around and even suggest other ones to put up, for fun or more serious ones, and some are actually being added. (it brought people's attention to the really ancient 'how old are you' poll and it finally got a new one)
so in short, i think the polls they are doing are good and valid and more or less harmless. i enjoy the less serious tone with things like this. makes it fun.

I love body horror and the super fungal looking ones like Ant Agony and Bubblejelly speak to my entire soul. Plants/fungi poking out through the skin is the best body horror trope and I always want more of that.
But I have to second the people wanting more skins that can be used easily. I've collected a neat dozen zombie skins over the years and Clusterflux and Blistered Hearts are the only two I've actually used for anything for that exact reason. I'm going to try to use catterkiller for some stuff come masquerade but the whole concept kind of hinges on being able to do a very specific thing with the layering
Meanwhile Jogoh and Clementine definitely have the best hair, but Gunner is the one that deserves to be memetic for having good hair. This is a very important distinction to make!

I like polls, but some of these feel strange and nonsensical. What does NPC hair have to do with anything? Now a couple are decent and useful (the Skitters/Louis one could be a good way to figure out which shop of items ultimately do better and should have more focus, same with the NPC pets; I assume that one is trying to gauge interest in fleshing out NPC's pets, particularly the ones that get the least votes?).
Polls really are a valuable asset for the site, and I've honestly missed them. They're useful for pet revamps (obviously these could be retooled to include options such as, "I like the new one better but it still needs work", so that it properly reflects everyone's opinions), and could be a great way to figure out what users might want y'all to focus on (whether that's revamping a feature of the site, potential new ideas we'd like to see, features that need to be cut, etc.).
Obviously the usefulness is limited to purely numbers unless you allowed a comment box (I strongly advise against this for multiple reasons, the #1 being how to quantify varied responses and then you have morons who think they're cute in writing useless info), but that's why discussion is at least good to have. Having good options to choose from is ultimately a good way to narrow it down to more accurate reflections of the demographic; when worded right, you won't need 10 or more options to choose from (too many choices can lead to some problems, such as people not reading through all of them and just picking the top most, which is obviously a skewing problem). In theory, discussions should roughly align with the numbers received from the polls, even if you have silent voters.

I really wanted there to be an option for a useable, interesting end result for the strain question. So often I think a strain looks really cool but then it's so hard to use any wearables with it that it just sits unused in my skins or I have to wear it with a fun background/foreground and just let the actual ha be naked lol

I don't want to choose between Louis and Skitters. ;w; They're both great characters and I love their designs and I always buy every single item from both their stores every Survival because, one, I'm obsessive (achievmentsssss; also, I'm a massive hoarder); two, never know what item I'll end up needing for any given outfit or pet treasure; three, they each have an equal amount of items I adore and items that I'll only use in special circumstances (e.g "this character outfit needs some ragged clothes" or "I really need some lingerie items to layer with everything else for JUST the right look"). Skitters has some amazing backstory, too, which I suppose actually leaves me kinda wishing we knew more about Louis because I can't really think of any major plot points/lore involving him? (Or I didn't have much time and paid little attention to plot points/lore involving him whenever there was any.)

Any poll that pays less than ten thousand sP is subtracting from my sP total. I could do a restock/quest making more sP than that in one-quarter of the time without even thinking about it.
The polls that are rows of text are too close to each other for someone with hand-control problems to get the correct one. The choice a user makes may or may not be their actual one.

For Louis vs. Skitters, what's really being asked? I could interpret it so many ways... ;--;
Do I prefer Parlour items or Zombie Den items?

I didn't really like the Survival strain question, because none of them accurately described what I like. I like strains with an interesting end result. Strain progression is cool and all, but you can't do anything with it later. For example, my favorite thing about the strain that makes you into a meat baby is the pile of actual garbage with a bunch of rats on it. If I could wear progressions as skins after I complete the strain, I'd vote that way.

I can't answer the favorite strain one because they don't have the answer I want. :/ I really don't like cute ones, and I don't necessarily like gory ones (but don't dislike them either). I don't care about robots and while I do like fun progressions, they're temporary so I don't want to base my choice of favorite strain on them. Like Caterkiller, the pupa stage was hilarious and awesome, but the actual skin leaves much to be desired.
I think the easiest way to categorize what I like most is ones that have a lot of customizing potential. What's the fun if I can't dress it up? I like Fevermore because it has a lot of potential (because its body isn't deformed so it can still wear a lot of clothes, but it's still fun), and Doom Bloom for the same reason. I think all of this year's have a lot of potential, and Lotus and Bulbus because they're versatile.

I can't decide on Skitters vs Louis. We need a middle ground choice. It really depends on the year and what is put out. Some years I prefer Skitters and some I prefer Louis, but often I just like them both. As for NPC design, I really don't have an opinion.

My favorite strains are all different: Baker's Kiss (cute), Blistered Hearts (gore), and Clusterflux (not really either one). Boobitis (gore) and Doom Bloom (cute/stunning) also holds pieces of my heart.

I would have to agree with @carson on the NPC Pet list.
Would a good suggestion for the forums, that each NPC page have their pet image somewhere on there too.
Outside of seeing them randomly during the holidays or certain areas, there were some NPCs that I did not even know had pets, so I had to blindly make my choice off the ones that I knew.

Kinda wish you guys put in the pet images for the poll like you did for the wrestlers and hair polls cause as a new player i literally don't know where to find any of these guys nor do I really care to go out of my way to do so.
