I never once wanted to use the old ones, but can we stop with the colors that are just barely not gray? And I agree with the people saying these are basically a completely new item. This is far more than a lineart update that most revamps are in general
1

MagnusTheRed

I prefered the old ones. -_-
0

Sovereign

late to the party, but i genuinely thought these were new vests to go along with the other clothes in Five Seven Five, not a revamp.
0

shylarah

Wow. New art is cute but this is not the same item at all anymore.
1

chookie

err, what? ok, but these are completely different items though...where has the belly covering gone? it's not really a shirt anymore? i'm sure i'll use these as is, but i'm definitely with all the people who have already stated these could've been released as Five Seven Five items or something (colours and style would've fit right in!)...i guess i'm just glad i don't have any favourite outfits which rely on the look of the old version...not like when the raven feet got revamped...
so thanks for these new items i guess!

Kros

@Valiska Nope the old style did not look cool on dudes either haha! Its fine, I've given them away to my friends that are more suited for the style.
1

Rabbit

@Dice To be fair, I think some bases need a revamp - especially the colorful ones.

It would be food if the base line got thinner. Many items with ticker lines don't match well against many of the new backgrounds and backdrops as of late (and especially the bases) so it would be a good thing for the team to look into!
1

DevilsRider

I wish there were some way to revert to an older design, for those who don't like certain revamps. Would be cool if there was an NPC or something for it.

These don't even look the same though. Could have been a completely new set of shirts.
6

Starfleet

There's shirts aren't popular in my wardrobe and the revamp isn't my cup of tea, but the art is cute.
0

Evanesce

God these needed this. I will say that while these colors ARE perfectly fashionable for this fall, they're also lacking the prints and textures that make these muted tones work for this year's fall season. They need more bright shades, since patterned versions are likely not coming.
2

usagi

I like the revamp even if it is dramatic. The bows are super cute. n_n

@Galadriel For some reason Diamond Soil looks like a fantasy garment to me. These look like something you'd find at Torrid, specifically. Torrid does this thing where they make clothes that are cute but that really need an underlayer to be work/school-appropriate; they're so into the idea that larger people shouldn't be afraid to bare their skin that they sometimes seem to forget there are places in life where nobody needs to be showing off skin. I agree with @Nayru and @Betelgeuze that these are not really "shirts" any more and even though I thought the old shirts were ugly as sin, they were actual office shirts.

The lines of the item could also fit into the festival garments section of Dolls Kill but the little bow sorta tips it over into the area where it's spectacularly failing to be a work shirt. I mean it's kind of telling that I did immediately think of the OC I'm playing who is currently nursing her children and how convenient she'd find these for that.

@Kros Did the old ones look good on dudes? O.@ I mean we need more items on this site that are friendlier to people who have a more butch/masc gender presentation than not, and it's a really big need, but I don't think you can expect one set of femme garments to be revamped into anything but another set of femme garments.

Regarding the colourways... As a person who does a lot of fantasy avatars and heavily uses Fine Fabrics and 575 items, it's nice to have more stuff that matches. But as a person who does a lot of avatars of colour, I agree with the many people who are also requesting more saturated, brighter colours in addition to the ones that we already have. I find that the very muted, greyed tones do not look as great on darker bases. I expect to get the most use out of the burnt orange and mauve ("dusky rose") ones.

I'm really glad to see more and more inclusive items, in terms of natural hair styles and makeup/tattoo variations for darker bases. It'd also be really fantastic if some item sets were released that were optimised for being worn on darker skin tones.

Since a lot of people who are lamenting the loss of the old item liked the collar specifically and used these shirts under sweaters/vests/jumpers for layers, could we bring that back as a layering item?
4

Galadriel

I like the revamp - the shirts needed it. I think I might've preferred for these to be just a whole new item now, though. They're not really a shirt anymore, just sort of a vest-like drape. Now I think they just look similar to
Diamond Soil

Also agree, these look like they could be part of the newer Five Seven Five items. I like the colors, but I do wish we could get some brighter colored items (and black and white) as well.
6

Galadriel

Whew! *wipes forehead* Missed this announcement by a long shot, but I already had all except one.

I really like the lineart, however, I do agree that it does look somewhat out of place against the thick lineart of the HA. If it would be possible to thin out the HAs lineart, then all the recent clothes wouldn't have such an extreme contrast.
3

Betelgeuze

I... don’t get it? These are not shirts anymore? ?
5

Dice

I don't mind the revamp or the colours (it's nice to have a range of colours that aren't eye-bleedingly saturated) but something needs to be done about the lineart. It might be alright on it's own, but it looks terrible against the thicker lineart of the avatar base.
4

Memorv

I'd just like to add that i'm actually a fan of the thinner lineart. I think it looks much nicer than the thick lineart.
3

innamoramento

o.o
goes to dress on ;p
0

Rabbit

I do like the new lines - and the new cut too!
I hope more colors will come around too, brighter tones and black and white would be great.

Happy to see more items getting revamped!
1

Curbstomped

Woah, funny. Was just hemming and hawing over a new HA who needed this shirt yesterday, but it was too dated to use. Funny how Friday the 13th rewarded me with some luck! Thanks guys <3
0

bobbins

I really like these - I prefer thinner lineart, it helps with layering and overall aesthetic, at least for the type of stuff I usually dress my avi in. The muted colors are very nice in contrast to the bright stuff, but I do agree that bolder colors as an extra addition would be hella rad too.
5

Kros

Yeah-nah... They don't cater for my Manly chest o.0
3

Diana

Very nice! I like em!!
0

Julie

All I can. I’m glad I had these in my vault.
0

Evalynn

I didnt care for the old ones - love these!
4

Ying

I agree they are very different, and have thin line art issues, but I do like the new design.
3

Hosui

very nice
0

EmilyMae

I love the new look! Thankfully I already have 3 in my wardrobe :D
1

Seoni

The little collar on them was my favorite part. Now its gone. Oh well.
6

Frenchi

oh... not really a fan of this new style, and these also have the thin lineart and gray shading issue. the shirts' original design was super cute, even though the art itself was a tad outdated. i would have preferred to just see the same style with better perspective and shading. this is one of the few times where i'm actually really bummed out by a revamp because i quite liked these shirts and would have loved to see them made more usable, but these are just... kinda ugly and way too different.
28

intermission

I was literally wondering if these were going to be revamped just yesterday.
I guess my answer is they would be changed altogether.

I think they're cute but it does feel like a new item instead.
6

Pinocchio

Would've liked to see the old design just get prettied up to look newer and nicer and these to be released as a separate item, they're so different from the originals. I liked the look of the old shirts, but the older art made them harder to match with things.. but now these go for an entirely different style area. x.x
13

KiaArra

I want there to be a bright pink one cus it reminds me of Sailor Moon's mid-transformation pink ribbon body suit.
9

omg_carrie

Yeah, the thin lineart is weird... and dang, these are so different! I'm neutral on both versions of these shirts but I really don't get why these couldn't just be separate items... I don't like these dramatically different revamps.
23

Rookie

Raise your hand if you're tired of items with little to no lineart.
33

Nayru

there is no reason these need to have your stomach showing... thats actually really stupid. they're barely the same item anymore
18

demon

the thinner lineart gets on wearables the weirder it looks on the avatars. neutral on the change but the lineart with whoever this artist could go just a scooch heavier, imo.
25

Kinky

I like the design, but I don't like that the stomach is visible. You can't layer as well with these, but I do like the design of the bow.
4

Hunger

Wow so different! I like the new design, though I'm not as sure about the colors...I wish they were brighter. Still nice though!
3

Valiska

@Balloon well, I live in California so it might be too far to commute and I'm very busy, but I'm always happy to talk about clothes. just let's not spam the thread TOO much... :)
1

Balloon

@Valiska omg can you help me with my IRL closets? lol Seriously though, the idea of doing DiY with some of the bits is awesome! I'll have to keep that idea in mind.
2

Maniac

i'm usually against big changes in revamps but the old ones were so irredeemably ugly i'm glad their "design" is completely gone lmao. the new ones are kinda weird too but the colors are nice.
9

Julia

I never liked the old ones so these are a HUGE improvement. Still probably won't use them because they're not my style. They could have easily been a new item though because they are VERY different...
1

Straywillow

Unlike some I've read I really like the muted/greyish colors and the design is really nice though I wouldn't have objected to a whole new design also rather then a replacement. On the whole these are very nice looking.
4

gryphongrl

Well that is completely different. I do like them a lot, though.
1

Thia

Yeah these SHOULD have been new items. I mean I like these, and the old ones did need a revamp. But this isn't a revamp. I revamp would just be updating the art, not turning an item into something totally different. Sometimes we get new items that could have been revamps of an old item, and sometimes we get "revamps" that could be totally new items. I don't understand that.
22

HeadPhonz

not a fan of this color pallet, tbh. really hope for brighter/more saturated stuff soon :c
16

cait

hate it, should have been new items also the colors are completely washed out
14

Fyreheart

These needed a revamp? There was nothing wrong with the originals. Guess those of us who actually used them are out of luck now.
8

Valiska

@Mackenzi omg that sounds like something I'd do.

I'm purging my IRL wardrobe right now because I have two overflowing closets and I keep going back and forth on some items between donate/sell or chop up and use the nice bits. I have removed multiple fancy collars from dead tops, too.
1

Mackenzi

I can almost see how the end result could have been someone upcycling those old old blouses by literally cutting off the sleeves and midriff fabric, which is kind of funny.
10

Valiska

@Ambition yeah, that kinda sucks, I'm sorry--you would have liked to be able to have both!

They really should keep items more or less the same type of item.
3

Frost

... Wow, that's a drastic change. :/ The item went from something similar to short-sleeved bow blouse to something that resembles a fancier scarf vest. I'm kind of surprised that Subeta insists on doing a 180 with certain revamps when users have usually expressed disappointment when it's done.

The art style and colours make me feel like these could be in a set with the somewhat recent Five Seven Five wearable releases. Overall, I think they definitely would've been better off as new items because of how different they are compared to the old ones. It's a shame because the art itself is nice, the new "shirts" are definitely useable (I might have one or two in my wardrobe). I think users would have loved them if they were their own item instead.

tl;dr - I like the art, I dislike the fact that it's a completely different wearable now.
38

Emi

I don't like these colours but I approve the new design. They're very different but the old ones were unusable imo
2

youngexplorer

These are very stylish, very chic. I like 'em.
3

KiaArra

I didn't love the old ones, don't love the new ones, but I agree that it probably could be a new item, they are very different.... kind of want the old ones to layer underneath the new ones....
7

Valiska

@Mesmer I suppose I probably do agree with you that it should've been a new item (even if that meant some would be selling for 80m SP and I wouldn't be able to get them for MONTHS--I think the primary reason I'm happy about these is that I was able to grab a few while they were still already under 100K, and my gourmand is still waiting for some of those ice pops to be reasonably priced). Again, sorry about that!

I do agree that they probably should make new items if they want to make it radically different. I am still salty about the Vampire Trenchcoat which is now a short jacket that is not reminiscent of Spike's coat at all, and also irritated about the changes of the Keith plushies to plushies of other characters. (I work in the health care field and have supported medical researchers and ended up with a Maybel plushie out of that; having seen the aftermath of "animal liberation" break-ins I would never have bought that.) I also was kinda irritated that the book about Keith's Amy Lee thing got turned into a wholesome story about life with many kids because I had to pull it out of a pet TC that it no longer belonged in.

So I guess my head is with you, even though I'm still happy I got all the cute tops without having to wait for them to come down under 50M SP.
7

PinkSapphire

Hate the revamp. Plus side? I can get more stuff out of my wardrobe.
8

Memorv

I love these and I can't say that I was particularly fond of the previous versions, but I do agree that these could have been completely new items instead of a revamp.
2

Ambition

I legit actually used to wear these for layering under vests/jackets and things. :) I like the revamp and still agree with what other users have said.
3

Saturnine

Heh I was just looking at the old ones yesterday going "nah". Better change.
4

Sneaky

That's a big change, but I still like them. Not sure about them covering less though...
3

Terra

These are nice, but I agree that they're so different now that they should have just been new items.
16

Johnny_673

I think the artist deleted the line layers by accident?
they didn't need a revamp, and this would be better as a complete new item
26

feral

@Valiska
The way the original is shaded is very unflattering, yes. But this actual type of shirt can look very nice IRL so I don't see why it wouldn't have looked nice with new art instead of a style change lol. The original was really good for adding your own unique layering spin to with collar / vests. The new version.. not so much.
21

Lantern

Is black lineart just not a thing for wearables anymore?
44

Valiska

...but they are so very different that I didn't realise this was the item that was revamped--I've seen the old ones many times, just never on anyone's avatar.
3

Valiska

@Mesmer Apologies, then! I didn't think anyone liked the old ones because they always sell for pocket lint.

I like the idea of a silky high necked blouse with a bow-collar (I own a couple), but I always thought the front draping was very unflattering.
2

hime

So cute! I use these a lot and they look a lot better. Thank you!
0

haha

lineart who
34

Souza

Lookin' silky smooth!
1

jensen

these are cute... i like the muted colors

i'm watching patiently to see how badly brown and lavender spike in price :p
1

lull

I totally agree with Mesmer, these could have been a new item as they are so different.
12

feral

@Valiska
Uh.... I actually really like the old ones, the art just needed an update IMHO.
29

QueenSpazzy

Oh gosh, I just literally squealed out loud, I'm SO in love with this revamp.
The colors are lovely and the new shapes are fantastic, they're like a dozen plus times more usable now, in my opinion.
2

Jess

Wonderful improvement! They look amazing :D
2

Valiska

@Mesmer I would normally agree with you, but the old ones actually were fugocious.
7

Laurey

Whoa, these look really different!

Here are some of the old ones for comparison:

43

Valiska

Wow, the prices are going up fast! What did they look like before? I didn't have any, before.
0

feral

That... is a very dramatic shirt type change. These could have been a whole new item, since they look nothing like the old ones o_o
