Cash Shop: Possessed Pearl Cameo
Mattieu’s doing just fine, thanks to you. He’s resting and taking it easy. He did write this out to you, though. Said he wanted to give you the information while it was still fresh in his mind. He doesn’t think it will help, but there’s got to be a genuine lead in here, right?
“Dear friend,
I want to do whatever I can to help you as you’ve helped me, but I find it hard to write a coherent thought. It’s as if my memories are being pulled out of my mind. This was something that the other victims discussed feeling after their possessions, so after you freed me, I knew I had to write down anything I could. Unfortunately, what I wrote no longer makes sense to me.
“Hard to see, can make out vague shape. Human? Glowing,” “Shadowglen, twisting trees,” “The floating market in Shengui Guo,” “Pillars in the desert,” “Dark cave, filled with magic,” “Firey aura, but it’s so cold,” “Broken swords, broken spirit. Punishment. Anger.”

“The floating market in Shengui Guo,” = With a lot of other people, I am also assuming Jogoh is a target, since she makes clothes
“Hard to see, can make out vague shape. Human? Glowing,” = Possibly Jaxon?? Or Maleria or Lukien. My other guess would Euclid or Ian
“Shadowglen, twisting trees,” = Potentially Element Mage or Quentin? Maybe the Dungarde?
“Pillars in the desert,” = Could be the Excavation Site, which is a place of power, or if in the desert is anything to go by, our Secluded Shrine NPCs, since they're crafters for the Scrolls (Yumiko and/or Kuwabara)
“Dark cave, filled with magic,” = Blackheart Hollow, with the Gatekeeper??
“Firey aura, but it’s so cold,” = Not sure on this one
“Broken swords, broken spirit. Punishment. Anger.” = Since Mathis was already a challenger...hmmm. Could be Reischen, Saggitarius or someone from the Freyalise??

I almost hope it's Shinwa, though I know it couldn't be. Maleria feels too easy.
It's probably someone entirely new though.

I have a theory it has something to do with the Oracle. Every path points to something somewhat tied to the Oracle.

Ooh that one is very pretty :o I agree that wearables based off this would be amazing.
Speaking of wearables, would it be possible to have the overlays be like redeemable skin items in the same vein as hair coupons? I know were getting all these awesome body mod items now and it's a shame these don't work with them 'cause limbs aren't removable. Just a thought, but I understand staff are working hard on a lot of things so I totally get if that can't be a thing right now.

!!! That's exactly who I was thinking of! I wonder, maybe she learned how to use magic over the years, and with Darkheart having a bit of character development, maybe they split and she began to plot on her own. I wouldn't be surprised if this lead to her launching an attack on the Sacred Lands at the end of the year...

I've been wondering if it could be be Mori wanting a way to take over Nori or become separated from her, since Maleria seems too obvious, but then again we don't appear to have an upcoming Darkside challenger, maybe because she is from there...

Man, I got all excited when I saw because it's been forever since we had a new weapon. But no, despite the description saying it's a weapon, it isn't.

i vaguely remember one of the staffers calling liara "a popsicle" (which i took to mean dead) after darkheart got his bit of character development a few years ago, but i hope it is her, somehow. it'd be neat to see liara come back and have her own moment in the sun.
@Kinky elsie was already possessed in february

This was a really pretty, well-done challenger. Also wondering: Are we maybe headed into a Neugarten plot?

What a beautiful creation! My first thought after reading the memories was “It’s going to possess Dungarde next?!”

And double posting, sorry, but for the Dark Cave filled with magic, I think it's Illtallo. He makes your pet into a Galactic form. It absolutely makes the most sense, in my mind.

I think for Shadowglen, it may be Elsie. She lives in the Underground beneath a twisted tree, and she makes things, not delicious thing sot us normies of course, but she still creates things.

First off, LOVE the art! Whoever did this did an amazing job! She's so dynamic for being a dummy thicc statue thing~ ♥️
Other than that, I've been thinking (since Cinthia was released from possession) that she (this being who is possessing people) might be one of whatever the beings are that get forcibly bound to... things to become dungarde.
But this one was like: "No. I want to inhabit Subeta, but I will do so on my own terms and I will choose my OWN form."
And, by choose, I mean forcibly take over NPCs & make them craft what she wants. haha. If so, she needs to get in contact with Isaac because he took control of how he's perceived too, but without the sticky mess of mind control. :P
Don't think I've posted this yet, but, if I did, apologies for making people read my ramblings twice. ha. I also like the idea that it could be Liara too.
also hoping it reads ok; tired as hell right now. uff.

@Florrosada12 @Laurey ooooh, verrrrry interesting theory y'all came up with! :D
Also seconding all the comments to make a SubQ line based on this (the previous challenger would make a nice one too, come to think of it), or at least just make that pretty, pretty mask a wearable...

WOW! I am going have to buy two of these. This reminds me of the Opal skin from the wardrobe! :}

Ooh, you might be on to something! I was thinking maybe Maleria at first, because she also has a backstory about being banished but your comment reminded me of this...
which, reading the description, goes along with what you said and I could see as a possibility.
The Subetapedia entry for Darkheart Phantom mentions her a bit as well - link

I can't see it! No matter how many times I log out. All my hover wearable previews are broken images :c

petition to have every single clothing/component of this art challenger as wearable please ;_;
(those boots, this bodysuit, these arm guards, this drape, this mask, EVERYTHING really!)

she's a server, she serves for a living, her job is to serve, and that's why she be serving constantly. serving us top quality serves as she serves us, cause that's what she does as she is a server.

I love the art on this challenger so much! I'm speechless. I've recently watched Fairy Ranmaru and those boots looks like something Uruu would like to wear lol.

Woah! The art for this one is so gorgeous!
And hmm... so, again we see the Puppeteer being fond of more elegant and pretty creatures, and her final sentence is very curious. Calling her previous victims and possibly future ones "peasants" suggests that she's either some type of royalty or is powerful and vain enough to consider herself above everyone.
Which reminds me... wasn't there an old subeta character that was a dethroned princess turned thief or something? I don't think she wasn't in a plot, but she exists and even has a plushie from years ago... I can't remember her name, but I know she existed. Maybe we're dealing with a character from way back in subeta's past? A character that's been easily forgotten over the years?

Great theories! I've been thinking Jogoh would be a target at some point, but to have it all but confirmed... I wanna see what creature they manage to create, I bet it will be gorgeous.

Oh wait, Mathis has been a challenger already too.
Maybe the broken swords and fiery but cold are not clues about a next victim but clues about who the one doing the possessing is?

@pointycatears
I actually thought of Ian right after I posted, which could make sense because yeah I think he does live in Shadowglen with Jaxon now, or at least spends a lot of time there. And he has been known to create some things in the past.
@Nerds
The only issue I see with the Shadowglen guesses is that both of those NPCs are already existing challengers. But I think the other ideas are pretty good though!

@Laurey I think for Shadowlgen it could be Jaxon or Ian, or even both, or maybe Ian and Quentin, and if that is this month as the order suggests, then maybe the thing they make will be a carnivorous plant creature that fits with the monthly theme. We know that Jaxon has at least one of those...

Holy crap, stunning. It looks like a Sailor Moon villain in the best way.
Also, can I just say that I am SO thankful the artist(s) stopped changing the faces on the overlays between m/f. I believe the Possessed Ornate Propeller was the first to keep the face the same in these. The changes for these haven't been as dramatic as other skins, but it is nice to seeI also wouldn't mind if it were switched up to have more dramatic eyelashes and fuller lips but still be the same on both overlays.

That is lovely art, but the being's back looks like a chair, or that their back is broken. I don't think that a body is supposed to bend that way. With the folded back, battle high heels, and hint of exposed ass, this looks like an Escher Girl

Also as for the text, it does seem like some of these may be predictions for upcoming victims...
“Shadowglen, twisting trees,” - I would say the Mage, but their already a challenger. Maybe the alchemy NPC?
“The floating market in Shengui Guo,” - Jogoh most likely
“Pillars in the desert,” - one of the scroll NPCs? Or the beanbag lady

I wonder if this is foreshadowing for where the other possessed challengers will be found. I also wonder if that's also the order they will be in, which means Shadowglen could be next?

Holyyyy shit, is this the most beautiful challenger created? I would do anything for some of those accessories to be made wearables.
Honestly a challenger-inspired chance machine or something could take all my money.
