The only professor that teaches at Hogwarts, that just happens to be a ghost...
The tale, or legend of Binns is that one day while just innocently taking a nap in the staff lounge, he happened to pass away in his sleep...not noticing really that he had died while napping, he just simply got up and went to teach his next class...with the one going 'joke' being he went to go teach while he "left his body behind"
Now you made be wondering what is it that Binns teaches, well my good sir, or madam I shall tell you. Binns is the professor of History of Magic. Quite interesting yes?...No you don't think so?...well...you made be happy to hear that many students share your same thoughts...I on the other hand can say I disagree with you fully, as a lover of History myself...though not a lot of people share my same love for History...

Many saying the only interesting thing that happens in Binns classes is when he enters the class room though the black board...It would seem people do not find his lectures on Goblin Rebellions and Giant Wars interesting, maybe it's just my 'muggle' view point, but I think learning about that would be fascinating! Oh well...
