Arctinus was the first in the family. He was found as a cub all alone deep in the woods of Shadowglen. It was cold and he was shaking and yet he snarled at me trying to show me he wasn't afraid of anything. The poor thing was starving and couldn't stand on his feet anymore, so he collapsed. I quickly snatched an old but warm blanket from my backpack and wrapped it around him. There was a strange and sinister howling coming deeper from the woods and, not knowing what else to do, I quickly grabbed him and headed towards the outskirts of Shadowglen. Arctinus was unconscious all the way until we got to the first tavern where we spent the night.

It was difficult at first. He didn't trust me and the little bugger bit quite a lot and hard. I tried to feed him, but he just kept snarling at me, so I left the food along with some water on the floor and kept to my desk where I was doing some research on the mysterious beasts of Shadowglen.
