The Professor: Quintux is forever working on math equations...equipped with a blackboard and chalk, he labors deep into the night, writing his formulas with great care, thought and detail. What is he working on so tirelessly? A quick nip into the kitchenette for a cup of tea and a black candy bar will certainly revive him...Long ago before the cataclysm on his home planet, Quintonia, the professor used to collect rocks. The rocks were ground very finely and mixed with mortar. This was then used to construct large towers which enabled the inhabitants of Quintonia to view each other from long distances. Until the technology changed. There were some upgrades. But until that time the towers were used to send reflective messages using shiny bits of glass. A code was worked out so the people could understand the messages. Before and up until the cataclysm: Professor Quintux left his home planet of Quintonia for another dimension. He knew the cataclysm was fast approaching. Many were warned but few paid attention to the signs and warnings. Professor Q (as he was called by his closest friends and associates) remembered to pack his chalkboard and chalk but as he slipped invisibly through the dimensions, the chalk wouldn't pass. It was too dense and it's molecular structure just wouldn't permit the pass through. Q didn't realize it until he was already past and into the next level. Now what would he do? How would he work his math equations and continue his important work? Chalk was special and had magical properties. And besides it was fun to work with. It would leave a powdery residue on his palms and fingers and would disperse into the atmosphere around Q when he clapped his hands together with glee at the completion of one of his mathematical epiphanies. And it would make loud squeaky and screechy noises when turned just a certain way across the blackboard.
