Cassiel is an archangel. He watches what happens as it happens and doesn't do much to change it. Because of this, he doesn't get along with the other archangels and is left alone. He keeps to himself and prefers to be in solitude. He'd rather sit and watch and stay on the sidelines rather than take part in an event. He's very cautious around others and is easily hurt/offended, but he doesn't argue or say anything that might offend the others. If he is complemented he takes it personally, perhaps more than he should, especially since he isn't used to being acknowledged, let alone praised. When he is praised, he becomes flustered because he doesn't know how to react, because he's not used to it. Although Cassiel presides over the death of kings and philosophers, he doesn't really mind. Instead, he enjoys being around them. He feels as though he learns more from their wisdom, experiences, failures, etc. than he does from anyone else. And in turn uses those lessons on a daily basis to perfect and better himself. But the time he spends with the kings also has a bit of a side affect, especially since he deals with kings that have been corrupted as well. Because he spends time with kings that have been taken by greed, hate, etc. he in a way, "absorbs" those qualities as well. As the the amount of sin grows, he becomes more corrupt, much like the kings. Because of this he can alternate between two forms; his "light" and "dark" forms. His dark form is feral and he can turn into it at will, unfortunately when he first transformed into his dark form he didn't know how to control it and as a result kept some of his feral attributes (tail, legs, neck poof, and horns).

Every now and then when Cassiel is having a hard time dealing with his personal issues, the balance between his dark and light forms shift and the balance between them is thrown off. He switches between his two forms rapidly and has difficulty finding a medium between the two until his problems are resolved. Often the problems arise when he is faced with an existential crisis or has a deep conversation with the philosophers.
