Voice of the Raven, Last of the Gifted House, Descendant of the Pale Horse
He is known by many names, in many worlds. Only the Raven knows his true name. But in the land where he was born, he is known as the Raven's Voice.
He was born to the house of those who serve as messengers of the Raven, the spirit of Death, the strongest of the fourteen spirits. They called themselves the Gifted House. They were always known by their black wings, the Raven's gift and mark of ownership. Descended from the Pale Horse, the first to serve the Raven, their sole purpose was to speak for the Raven to the inhabitants of the mortal worlds, to convey his wishes and commands, to warn them of impending destruction and, sometimes, to carry out that destruction themselves.
The child born that day, and his twin brother, were the last to be born in the Gifted House.
There came from across the worlds men who wished to destroy the Gifted House, to remove it from all worlds, blindly hoping they could destroy death itself. They killed them all, one at a time; but when they came for the last, the youngest twin, now nearly a man, they could not destroy him.
Since that day, the last of the Gifted House has not aged. No matter how he is wounded, he will not die; this is the Raven's blessing, or curse.
