Our parents told us stories of what the cities were like when they were filled with people.
At night, there are certain types of trees that light up in the dark, their leaves emitting a fluorescent glow - a byproduct of the radiation soaked earth. Once flourishing cities are now sprawling deserts, arid, cold and barren.
The creatures of this world are unusual too: two-headed rabbit are commonplace, as are glowing frogs and automata resembling canines. Some creatures have retained more of their pre-apocalypse DNA than others, but evolution has been led by not only the radiation levels, but also by the scientific and medical developments in mechanical robotics.
A descendant of the Imprimis, 26 survives now on Earth. Sharing parts of the original system with her predecessor, she is an outcast. Neither human nor cyborg, she rests somewhere in between.
Hundreds of years after the apocalypse, the generations following are affected with various illnesses and deformities. Set against the desolate landscape of a new Earth, those healthy humans are considered pure and elite, whilst those humans born with deformities (radiation defects) are outcasts. These outcasts live alongside cyborgs and some humans are equipped with robotic enhancements in order to survive.
