On October 5th, 2019, my beloved Kai Lin, companion of seventeen years who had lived a long and loved nineteen years, grew too sick, and I had to make the difficult choice to end her suffering. I held her as the vet helped us let her go, and her memory lives on with me. This is my memorial to her.

She loved warm sunbeams coming through the window, sitting on the windowsill and watching passing traffic, stinky freeze dried shrimp treats, being cuddled (on her terms, of course), snuggling under the blankets at bedtime, and looking at everyone as if she was above them. She knew it, she really did. She gave me seventeen beautiful years, and I will never, ever forget her. If you have the time and space in your life, please consider adopting a cat.
