YoRHa created 2B with one purpose in mind.

Destroying the Machines, that hostile robotic force that has driven humanity off the face of Planet Earth.

2B is easy on the eyes and hard on any AI stupid enough to get in her way, as one programmer put it.

Combat situations are her thrill. Completion of objectives are her purpose. Idle chatter is an annoyance like sand in her circuits. Droids that try too hard to be like humans ought to have their brains rewired.

It was such out-of-line behavior that led to Machines, after all.

She will pursue the goals of YoRHa to the brink of self-destruction but she prefers missions where she is sent out sans guides or hangers-on. Civilians must be babysat, more often than not. The only partner she tolerates on a daily basis is 9S...and there are days she wouldn't mind unplugging him for an hour or twelve.

She likes to think she is impervious to all emotions, artificial or otherwise, and yet...

She shows a sarcastic streak at times to match the best stand-up comic, especially against that annoying Pod 042 who is always pointing out the obvious.

She expresses curiosity and enjoys the occasional down day where she can run errands instead of risking her life.

She shows a hot-headed streak that can flabbergast even the msot confident programmers...yet there isn't one who has tried to alter this aspect of her personality.

Perhaps the most revealing characteristic to contradict her cold logic is the anger and sorrow she feels on account of 9S. His willingness to question orders may contradict her own belief that obedience is irrefutable yet when he vents his frustrations, she listens. Her core personality won't be altered but he makes her think.

She is more human on the inside than she would ever willingly admit.
