Name: Charles Jr. Thompson
Nickname: Char
Age: Twenty-nine
Occupation: Char holds many odd jobs including: supermarket cashier, bus boy, food court vendor, and worst of all, costume character at a kid's arcade/restaurant (think Chuck E. Cheese's). All these jobs are just enough for him to scrape by with his monthly living expense and have a little left to himself. Char is extremely thrifty with his spending, any extra penny heads straight towards the bank. He's hoping to save up enough money to go to college and become a school music teacher, although at the rate he's going, it seems more likely to fly to the moon. But one can dream, right?
Biography:
Personality:
Likes: The way to this man’s heart is through home made cooking—which is understandable given that his primary diet as a child consisted of frozen TV dinners, packages of ramen noodles, and smushy PB&J sandwiches. Home baked goods are his kryptonite. Bake him a cake, cookies, muffins, or pie and he might just be moved to tears. Music is his heart, Mozart, his muse, and the chipped and battered old pawn-shop violin, his soul. He feels relaxed when he plays violin, a sense of wonderment washing over him as to how a guy as crude as him can create such a delicate sound. His radio is his lifeline, the tiny, portable piece of plastic and metal his gateway to music. Char isn't one for sheet music and books, rather he listens to a song on the radio and figures out the notes by ear. And, as much as he's reluctant to admit it, that big old teddy bear of a dog, Wolf, has grown on him.
Dislikes: One puff of cigarette smoke and he clears the room, bolting out the door with record times that would make his old PE coach proud. To many nights spent crying, to many acts he’s been forced to put on, to many bad memories associated with the choking fumes. He hates close-minded people with a passion, and despite being content to play the role of a wallflower for the most part, Char will never stand back and watch a kid get bullied by those bigger than him if he can do anything to help. Attention makes him squirm, as does public speaking and strangers. He’s scared of anything unfamiliar and new that strays from his strict daily rituals, and shies away from such opportunities, even if said opportunities could help him out of his slump.
