The wildflowers reach up to touch my sides. They smell sweet in the early morning breeze. But they are only the beginning. At the end of this trail lies the forest, untouched by famine, disease, and man. They say that it is filled with amazing creatures- flora and fauna that exist no where else... Vines that creep up proud trees, birds that hoot and howl in the night, cats that fill the wood with their glittering eyes and quiet purrs... But I will never reach it. For I am the trail. I am the one who leads the pure of heart to this oasis just beyond my reach. The others- the thieves, murderers, and rascals seeking refuge- are led them astray to wander the world. I am the only one with no place to go, no destination, no meaning, trapped within myself for eternity. Yet maybe the journey is the most meaningful of all...
