My cat Mittie was very dear to me. She left me today (May 10th, 2010) to be with her brother somewhere better. There will never be another cat like her; she was one in one million billion trillion plus. She had the softest grey fur with a shading of brown on her back when she went out in the sun and a blushing of peach on her face. She didn't have a tail as luxurious as this pet does, in fact, she didn't have a tail at all. She was part Manx and part American Bobcat. She didn't have a real tail, but she had a tail spirit that wrapped around the world 3+ times with enough left over to whip past my other cat at any time.You were such a little thing. Big eyes, big ears, but a little stub tail. I had just had to give a kitten back because we had found her owner. I was heartbroken. You could tell, I know you could. You came up to me, picked me out. You knew what you wanted, who you wanted. My brother had chosen your brother a few days earlier. We put you both in a box between us on the car seat as we drove home from our camping adventure. That was our beginning. It was simple, it was sweet. The next few years you were always there. My best friend, my only true confidant. You never cared what I told you and I knew you would never tell my secrets.Under your watchful gaze I grew from a child to a bratty teenager and finally to a young woman. You shared all my triumphs, commiserated over all my tribulations. You slept by my side every night that I was home and tried to teach me to pick up after myself. You look so funny with a sock trailing behind you.
