Luminate is older than she cares to remember. Being half Eclipsan, she ages much as the species does, very slowly. Her calculated age is somewhere around 300 years. Her mother, once an Eclipsan Queen, is far older. The species has long since died out, with very few remaining to claim the blood of the once-powerful race. The fate of the species is a well-guarded secret, and even Luminate barely knows the details.

Because of her heritage, Lumi did not inherit much of the natural power of the Eclipsans. Along with the extended lifespan, she has wingless flight and telepathic connections with organic beings, which, compared to full Eclipse wolves, is barely a teaspoon of their power. Her unusual coat and eye color, as well as her markings, fully displays her heritage, but the thickness of her fur and wider, sturdier stature give away her wolf side. Any full Eclipsan would immediately know she was half merely from her stature, as fulls are slender and deer-like in build, with thin, sleek fur.

Lumi herself is a kindred spirit, quick to smile and laugh. She does not speak much, mostly because she has little to say. She strongly believes that there is kindness in everyone, but she knows better than to try and change those who she knows will refuse to see it within themselves. Though kind, the proud nature of her Eclipse half runs strong in her vains, and as such, Lumi can be considered a very proud creature. She often refuses to accept help from others, though she will willingly give help.
