After wandering the dark forest for what seems like hours, you enter a bright clearing that's dotted with colorful wildflowers. The sun streams into this natural meadow and you are temporarily blinded by the light. When the spots in front of your eyes fade, you notice a small fox with a very pecuilar coat sleeping with her tail curled around what appears to be a pup. As you approach the peacefully sleeping fox, you notice that her white fur is dotted with spots of many different colors. She stirs as you draw closer and when her gleaming eyes open, she looks at you dreamily for a long moment and then smiles as she sits on her haunches. What you originally thought was a fox pup also awakes with a start and bounds behind the fox, peeking at you from behind her fluffy tail. She laughs, "Oh Melancholy, don't be afraid, this is a friend." She greets you, "Hello, stranger. My name is Savannah. I see you've stumbled upon my little piece of paradise." As you look around the meadow, you realise that it is very calming and beautiful, you can see why she lives here.She reaches behind her and picks up the pup-like creature in her teeth and places him on the ground in front of her."This is Melancholy, I rescued him. Poor little thing, he's scared of his own shadow." You see Melancholy visably shaking as he tries to snuggle closer to her.The longer you are in the presence of this beautiful creature, the calmer you feel. The sunny day takes on a dream like quality and you begin to feel sleepy and content. Savannah smiles at you as you sit in the soft grass across from her."So, friend. I'm sure you are wondering who I am, and why I'm here." When you don't respond, she takes a deep breath and continues."I found this place when I was only a pup. It's only Melancholy and I, but my sister Raven used to be here as well. She chose a different path, and I'm sure one day she'll find her way back, when she's ready." For a second, Savannah looks slightly morose at the though of her sister, but her ears perk up suddenly as she continues her story."I'm a Spirit Fox, I don't know if you've heard of us, for we are rare nowadays. We are foxes with supernatural powers that relate to our true name. My true name is Tranquility, and no doubt you have already felt my power." You think about how you suddenly became calm when you entered the meadow and nod."We aren't really much different from our common cousins, we just have abilities that can be used for good, or in my sister's case, not so good." She frowns slightly, and pauses.Suddenly you hear a sharp hiss, and the cracking of a branch in the forest.Savannah stands and turns towards the sound. "You should go, friend. That's Raven, she's still out there. I pray that you do not cross her on your journey."She looks at you sternly, and you take that as your cue to leave.As you stumble back into the darkness of the forest, you hear that menacing hiss again. You turn in the opposite direction of the sound and take off running.
