Sun Popoko
The midday sun beams brightly as the warm summer breeze blows through the lush green leaves. Yuzu stretches lazily on a bountiful orange tree and reaches for a brightly colored fruit.
How many days has it been since his ship made a fatal plunge onto this planet? Has months or even years passed? His ship is now half-buried amidst of Peka Glade, just beyond a quaint orange orchard in which he took shelter. The old farmer there had been kind enough to allow Yuzu to feed off his beloved oranges. Not that he ate a lot, he is barely the size of these fruits!
The petite Popoko often reminisced about his home planet. About how his favorite fruit at home taste just like these oranges. About how the sky is an ugly green instead of a brilliant blue. About how the sun at home is much more blinding. About how dangerous his home planet is to small creatures like him...
Yuzu sways his fluffy tail leisurely and takes another bite of his orange.
Maybe getting home could wait after all.
