Galactic Kora
JessicaTitaniuma was born into a rich family. Because of her family's wealth she was given private lessons. However despite the fact that she learned, she was not expected to get a job. She was expected to get married and have children.
"Girls your age are already married," her mother said. "They take care of the kids and the house. They stay home."
Titaniuma did not want to be stuck at home for the rest of her life. In fact, she had no interest in marriage.
Her brothers had high-paying jobs and were already married. They all agreed that females weren't supposed to have jobs.
"They work at HOME," they kept saying.
Titaniuma, who was sick of being discriminated against, ran away and resided in another village where girls and boys were treated equally. She met Joya but did not see her for another couple of months.
She didn't see Joya again but she did meet Aurum Argentum. Despite the fact that he always seemed to be looking for trouble, the two became friends.
Titaniuma stared up at the stars, wishing she could be among those that lived there. She promised herself that one day, some day, she would live in the stars. She told her friend about her desire.
"Why do you want to live up there?" he said scornfully. "It's always so dark up there."
"I don't care," she replied. "It's so beautiful up there."
"I want to keep my golden plumage," Aurum said. "I don't want to have stars in my feathers."
"When I leave, you'll be alone," said Titaniuma calmly. "And you don't need to become one of the Galactics. I heard that a Spectrum lives up there."
This changed Aurum's perspective. He was immediately interested.
"Really? Maybe it won't be so bad after all. When will we leave?"
"Whenever," was the reply.
"Can we leave...now?"
Titaniuma stared at her golden friend. "Well...I guess so. But I'm not exactly in a hurry to leave you know."
"I want to go now."
"Fine," she said. She climbed onto her friend's back. "Am I too heavy?"
"No way," Aurum said, laughing. He opened up his golden wings and took off.
