He was the son of a duke and a very charismatic fellow who loved to attend official parties and go gallivanting with young ladies at night. His father was even more flirtatious, and while the duke remained married to his wife, he often had a few mistresses on the side. Frostbit was the youngest child of four, and he was also the least responsible. Like his father, he had many lady friends and spent a lot of money. His whole life changed when his father was assassinated. There was very little evidence left behind... just a few blood spatters on the floor and the two stab-wounds in his father's chest. It was an unfortunate case for Frostbit when the murder weapon, coated in his father's blood, was found in his room.
His own mother had him banished from the kingdom... he was sentenced to exile, never to return.
At first he tried to seek refuge in a neighboring kingdom, but without his title and his parent's money he had nothing. Then the news of his banishment reached the surrounding areas, and he was chased away for being a murderer. It was bad luck to have your hands stained with blood. People thought the evil spirit which had driven him to kill his father could be transferred to someone else. He was forced to flee into the mountains.
It was here he found his new home; an ice cavern that was big enough to house him comfortably. Eventually he was able to steal a few pieces of furniture for himself, and while it was bitterly cold and very lonely, Frostbit lived on.
Then one day someone flew past his cave. It was a Lasirus like him... only she appeared to be suffering from some kind of horrible disease... true she was awful looking, but being the flirtatious fellow he was, he couldn't resist flying over to have a chat. He invited her inside for some tea and biscuits that he had recently stolen from an old lady in town. (Hey, survival was survival.) She refused, so instead, he asked her for her name.
That was how he met Epidemia, and he has been infatuated with her ever since. He believes they were destined to be together. Unfortunately, he'd the only one who thinks so... even though his feelings are one-sided, he remains completely smitten.
Despite having been labeled a murderer, he is still very proud and haughty. He won't give just any 'simpleton' or 'commoner' the time of day. The only thing that can shake his cool demeanor is a lady... or more specifically now, Epidemia. If his company happens to be of noble blood, he becomes very sociable and easy to get along with.--
Living alone, isolated in his cavern of ice, away from the distractions of everyday life... Frostbit had a lot of time to think about what had brought him to his current position in life; him being without any family or friends. He breathed a sigh as he sat down at the table and reached for the tea he had poured himself earlier. He looked at it, made a face, and placed it back down. The tea had already frozen.
He could remember the way his mother had looked at him when she was told the murder weapon had been found in his room. She looked appalled, shocked, and slightly amused...? Had he been imagining that half-smile? Of course she knew about all of her husband's affairs... but she never seemed to mind too much... well, as long as he didn't bring them back to the house... wait... had there been blood on the end of one of her sleeves..? It hadn't been very noticeable, just a drop or two, but now that he thought about it, those red dots could have been blood.
She also compared him to her husband quite often, saying how her youngest child was turning into a disgusting womanizer. Huh. Maybe she did mind the affairs more than she was willing to admit... Could his mother have killed her husband and framed her own child out of revenge for having to endure a loveless marriage? No! Of course not. What a silly thing to think.
Frostbit chuckled. "I've been alone so long... I think I'm starting to go mad," he told himself, his voice echoing off the icy walls, reminding him again that he was very much alone.
