Golden Chocolate

Declan's father, Rufus Golden, owns a chocolate shop, which as a kid he thought was the coolest job to have. Being surrounded by chocolate all day; what could beat that? On the weekends Declan helped out at the shop, sorting out deliveries and sweeping. At the end of the day his dad would give him a chocolate treat he hadn't tried before.

At the end of high school, Declan asked his dad if he'd let him work at the chocolate shop officially. Rufus was overjoyed to have his son working alongside him. Rufus taught him the recipes during the slow hours of the weeks. In no time Declan's chocolate creations were just as tasty as his father's. He even started crafting some recipes of his own.

Mariska

A few years into working at Golden Chocolate, while he was working the register, a young lady came into the shop. She caught his attention immediately, and found his eyes searching for her after helping another customer. She came up to buy a bag of chocolate chips, and introduced herself as Mariska, saying that she ran a bakery a couple streets over.

The fourth time Mariska came into the shop, Declan asked her if she'd like to come over for some hot chocolate after closing time. She returned later that day with a bag of freshly baked scones. Their conversation never lulled, and they thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. They've now been dating for a few years.
