Long ago Acorelia use to love to sing and would often swim up to the surface to sing her songs to the passing sailors. Enticed by her beautiful songs and voice, the sailors often returned every day to hear the young reef guardian sing. However, one day the wives of those sailors caught wind of their husbands being lured out to sea to hear a young girl sing everyday. Afraid that she was a siren trying to drown their husbands in the sea, they attacked her, slashing her throat badly. Acorelia barely managed to escape and survive, but her vocal chords were forever damaged.
