Story
Ampharos drummed her fingers impatiently on the counter and she sighed deeply. It was definitely a slow day at the antique shop. A lock of her pink hair fell in front of her and she decided to play with that instead. She was definitely a collector. She looked around her at all of the things she had for sale. They were cleaned, shiny, and well lit. She imagined what they would have looked like when they were found by whoever brought them in. One thing she had, a hundred year old rocking chair, had been brought in by a withered little old man who said he remembered his grandmother telling stories about playing on it when she was young. He said he'd bought her house when she passed and found it in his attic. With dusty spiderwebs hanging on it and a layer of cakey dust. She knew the smell of that dust. The smell of years, decades, centuries past and long forgotten. Not everyone who brought in their items had cleaned them first. Of course, The things she had in this antique shop she was willing to part with. She really loved collecting the stories of the items more than the items themselves. The only material objects she collected to keep forever were her PokeBalls. She had many PokeBalls.

She found her first when she was a child and after that collecting them was sort of an addiction. She found her first in a small mound of dirt in a field. She'd notice a small piece of it shining and dug it up. After she washed it she put it on a shelf in her bedroom until she could figure out what else to do with it. Then later she found a second one that looked really interesting and realized it would look nice next to the first one. She never passed a chance to get a new one after that.

Her collection was almost complete, with only a few rare pieces left. They were displayed in her shop and labeled "NOT FOR SALE" She opened the antique shop because of all of the rare and interesting old things she'd come across in her search for PokeBalls. She knew how frustrating it was to have an incomplete collection, although she didn't know what she would do when she was all done. She wanted to help others finish their old collections and start new ones.

There were days when the Antique shop wasn't so interesting and days where items and history and adventures seemed to walk in the door. That day had been one of the not so interesting days up until that point. She heard the bell ring and looked up. Someone had walked through the door carrying a very large box.

"I'd like to sell this," he said in a gruff, deep voice.

"That box will take a while to go through, but I've got time! Let's see what you've got," Ampharos said brightly.

"I don't really have the time," The man grunted, "I just got these out of my uncle's house and I'm trying to clear out some space."

"Well, you may have some real gems in here!" She replied, trying to stay positive.

"Doubt it, never spent much on anything," he sniffed, "tell you what, I'll give you the whole box for ten bucks."

"Alright, I'll just take it off your hands, I'll need some ID and you'll need to sign this," she handed him a receipt for sale.

Once he was gone she hung up the closed for lunch" sign and opened the box. She'd mostly bought it out of curiosity. She didn't expect to find much in it. She found a set of silverware made by a company she knew to have shut down production at least a hundred years earlier. She found some vintage toys in somewhat played with but acceptable condition. She found an old pocket knife but she couldn't figure out how old it was and she found a box that was covered in a grayish brown layer of dust. It was locked and she set it off to the side. At the bottom of the box she found some coins that were a hundred years old and some post cards and birthday cards. She set to work at cleaning up what she could and put the cards on display. The rest of the day went very slowly. So slowly in fact that she'd decided to close the shop early. When she got home she set herself to unlocking the box she'd found earlier. First she cleaned it up and discovered that it was a very pretty box. Then she got out a lock picking set and very carefully worked until she felt the lid spring up a little bit.

She looked inside and gasped at what she saw. It was a very, very old PokeBall. She didn't have this one yet. In fact, she didn't even know this one existed. There was a note on the inside that said "Happy birthday Jay, love Grandma."

Her heart skipped a beat. She turned it over and over, feeling it with her fingers. It had delicate carvings in it which, with a good shine, turned out to be different types of Archans fighting or growling at one another. She was too excited to move at first and she just sat and stared for a very long time. She couldn't wait to add it to her collection.
