Tangled Wires the Tinsel Blob Monster

"Welcome, lad," Arthur Weasley said to his newborn son Percy, "to my garden shed." He carefully placed the infant in a small cot on top of his worktop. Each of the Weasley children had received the same initiation. Of course, his wife Molly did not know this, hence why he and Percy were there now. Molly had taken the other boys to her mother’s for the afternoon and left him with the newest addition.


Arthur opened one of his drawers, after removing its protective spell, and pulled out a jumble of wires.
"These," he said to his son, "are what Muggles call wires and they are used for eckeltricity. It is simply amazing what Muggles do, to cope without magic."
Lovingly, Arthur set his wires back into the drawer and replaced the protective spell on it. Percy reached his hands out to hold a wrench his father showed him next, but Arthur couldn’t manage the thought of his infant drooling on the precious wrench and proceeded to show him the next object in his massive collection.


The large carton full of batteries took a while for Arthur to replace, after showing Percy each and every one, as they were sorted by colour, size, shape and whatever Muggles called voltage. He removed yet another protective spell and brought out various How-to-do-it-Yourself instruction manuals.
"You know, your mum reckons I'm barking mad for all these spells, Perce," he said, a glimmer of pride shining in his eyes. "Oh, Arthur, really," he mimicked his wife, "You’d think we were at Gringotts and we had a fortune in one of their vaults. Next, I expect you’ll want a dragon to guard your junk!" He shook his head. "She doesn’t understand. Mind you, I would like a dragon, if they weren't illegal and likely to burn one of my books." With the thought of a dragon swooping down and damaging one of his books, he hurriedly put them back in their place of honour and moved on with the tour.


After about an hour, and not noticing that his "audience" was fast asleep, Arthur walked over a large object in the centre of the room covered in a manky old sheet and proudly announced, "this, my lad, is my crowning glory." He pulled off the sheet to reveal a Ford Anglia. "This is called a car and is what Muggles use for their main mode of transportation." He lowered his voice to barely a whisper, "I'm working on making it fly. You mustn't tell your mum though, she'd box my ears. I told her I wanted it to see how it works." He gave a nervous twitch and looked around widely expecting his wife to be right beside him. Quickly, he covered the car again, grabbed Percy in his cot and left his shed, locking it with his wand and placing more protective spells on the door.
