Aliens are real. That's just a fact.
Most people will tell you that there's never been any proof of extraterrestrial life and that flying saucers are all hoaxes, but she knows better. And that's why, equipped with her various telescopes (cheap and plastic) and her library of books (mostly written by frauds, aside from the ones that are explicitly fiction), she's out looking for them.
Sometimes she thinks she sees something out there in the night sky, but the beleaguered scientists at the observatory are always certain that it's just weather balloons or aircraft or the planet Mars (yes, it has always been at those coordinates). They do have a way bigger telescope, so she supposes they probably know what they're talking about.
She resigned herself to a lifelong search years ago. The universe is a big place, and who knows when a spaceship is going to pass by this one particular planet, right?
At least the stars are always pretty.
