The woman, only twenty years old, rested her elbows on the balcony coming off of her room, her unnatural green hair spilling over her shoulders in waves, and looked down at the large gardens below longingly. She wished her parents would let her out of her room. It had been three years since she had stepped foot outside the large bedroom she called home after she had found out that she had a disease where she could be seriously injured from even the smallest of things. This caused her parents to panic and lock her in her room to ensure she couldn't hurt herself. They seemed to have forgotten how much she loved visiting the gardens, however she had not. Each night, making sure her parents were asleep first, she would slip over her balcony and head down into the gardens below, looking after the flowers in the dark. She would then return to her room when she was done, leaving no signs she had ever been outside.

Briony, her name was which she always found ironic given that it was a flower related name. However, her mother had always liked plants as she did. It was likely where she got her love of them from. She sighed, wishing it was nightfall already. Pushing her thoughts aside, she headed back into her room and over to the terrariums her mother had given her when she had first been confined to her room as a way of apology. She watered the plants carefully before collapsing down onto her bed, her hair falling over her face as she did. She didn't even have some epic story to tell of her confinement like Rapunzel; she was simply ill. Pathetic really. Though it did amuse her how her parents were keeping her locked away "for her own safety" but she was acting more recklessly than she had before. After all, she did climb down the back up the walls of the house each night, and just to see a few flowers at that.

Perhaps, Briony thought, it would be better for her to leave. She knew how to get out of her room as her nightly trips outside proved, so why not get out for good? In her opinion, keeping her inside would do little for her because she may 'live' for longer, but she would never really live. And living properly was what was important to her.

(I have literally no idea where I'm going with this?)
