Bonieto peered out through the crack in lid of the cardboard box he was in, watching as lights filtered in every now and then as they passed by looming street lamps. Where were they going? This was the wrong direction from home. Several minutes passed by as Bonieto became increasingly restless cooped up in his little box. He protested with a few meows and taps to the flimsy cardboard lid with his paws and even a few headbutts but each time was met with a harsh shushing sound and a hand to keep him from popping out of the top of the box. Soon the car came to a stop and Bonieto stumbled inside the box as it was hoisted up from its seat and began moving. What was happening now? Were they home? But it didn't smell like home...in fact everything smelled...unfamiliar. Suddenly the box was set down and the lid was opened, but it was hard to see. It was dark out with the only light to illuminate the area being the moon hanging above and a flickering street light that didn't seem to work properly a little down the road. He cocked his head curiously and started sniffing around as the girl still bent down stroked the cat softly mumbling something to herself. "I'm sorry Bonieto..." As he was busy sniffing around a near by shrub his ears perked as he suddenly heard the click of a car door shutting. He swiftly turned to see the girl now inside the car as she began driving off. But wait! Where was she going? He was still there! How could she possibly forget him! He sprinted as fast as his little paws would go to try and make it in time but it was no use...the car was gone and too fast for him to catch up with. Alone and confused he retreated back to the flickering street light and curled up under it, unsure of what to do next. How would he find his way home? None of these smells were familiar. And what would he eat? Where was he suppose to go? There were no kibbles or litter boxes here, just dirt, gravel, and bugs. Bonieto shook his head trying to throw these negative thoughts from his mind. There's no way she would have purposely left him there! He was sure she'd come back for him soon. All he had to do was just wait there next to road and when she'd come back in the strange metal moving contraption she would be sure to see him and bring him home again.

Several hours passed before Bonieto's head perked up as he heard a familiar sound approaching. It was the sound of that thing his owner used to go places! Excitedly he leaped to his feet and dashed out into the road and ran towards the sound. Soon he saw the bright lights of the car and ran out approaching it, meowing loudly "MASTER! I'M HERE" Soon there was the loud screeching of braking tires and a loud thud followed by silence. The street lamp flickered once again as the car drove away, lightly illuminating a streak of red ending at the lifeless body of Bonieto laying in the road...
