misha callahan was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of sixteen. prior to that, he was slung from foster home to foster home because no one quite understood what was wrong with him. suffered a lot of abuse as a child from deadbeat, drug-addicted parents. he was adopted by a lovely couple and their two other adopted daughters after a year of living with them. with them, he was given lots of much needed care and attention, and began taking medication to ease the symptoms.

on the night of his eighteenth birthday, an entity appeared before him with a gift. "use it to exact revenge on those who have hurt you," the voice had urged him. he found that he could now create powerful illusions - and he spent all night practicing his powers with the giver. waking up exhausted, he chalked it up to a rather weird dream.

and that was that. it was only later the next day, when his room morphed into a dark forest, with eyes watching him from every direction. and he heard a scream. and he noticed his younger sister, who had stepped in to bug him, pale as a ghost.

"you can see this too?" he asked.
"most definitely." she had replied.

this answer had startled him so hard the delusion- no. the illusion faded completely, and he discovered that perhaps it hadn't been a dream at all. --- really did give him powers. but, unlike ---, he refused to use this gift for complete merciless revenge. he became some sort of a hero- protecting the innocent people of his city while taking down those who would harm it. he refuses to kill at all, because his younger sisters made him swear not to. overtime, he has gained more and more control of his powers. the only time his powers go off on their own accord is when he hasn't taken his medication in a while, turning his delusions into reality.

he is currently hunting down his birth parents to ask them why they did what they did to him, but he has had zero luck in his endeavors.
