He could feel the books in his arms slipping. And it seemed that no matter how much he tried to rearrange his hands to support the stack he was carrying, they kept slipping. Luric had just made up his mind to head over to the closest bench to fix the issue when the accident happened. All the books and papers fell to the ground. He let out a deep sigh before crouching down to collect them all again.

-”Are these yours?” A deep voice right next to him asked. As Luric looked up he first saw a hand holding some of his papers. Before replying he looked further up and found himself looking at one of the guards of the city. He was all decked out in the red and gold guard regalia. What set him apart from the other guards was the fact that he had a blindfold covering his eyes.
-”Yes. Thank you.” As he stood up he grabbed the papers awkwardly while once again holding his stack of books. The guard cocked his head slightly while watching him.
-”Which way are you heading?” He asked.
-”Oh, I’m heading in that direction.” Luric nodded straight ahead. He knew that the guard could tell what he did despite the blindfold. There was a sigh from the elven guard before he turned towards Luric again.
-”Then let me help you with those.” Before waiting for a response he moved closer and started taking the stack of books from Luric.
-”That’s very kind of you...Um, what’s your name?” Luric gave the guard a very warm smile while waiting for the response.
-”Zeveth. Zeveth Felwalker.”
-”A pleasure to meet you, Zeveth. I’m Luric Naeran.”

It took them about fifteen minutes to reach their destination. All that time they spent talking. Luric found most things fascinating to learn about, and demon hunters were no exception. This one in particular seemed to be a very tormented individual. And so much sadness seemed to reside within him. As they stopped outside of Luric’s home he looked at Zeveth and gave him another warm smile.
-”I want you to know, Zeveth, that you’re always welcome in my home. So, if you ever want to just talk you’re more than welcome to come over. I will happily lend you an ear.”
-”I...” Zeveth seemed to be really surprised by his offer. “Why?”
-”Why what?”
-”Why are you offering me this?” Luric smiled at him again as he placed a hand on Zeveth’s arm.
-”Because I can see that you’re hurting. I can see that there’s a lot of sadness in you. And I want to help.”
-”But why?”
-”Well, because you need it. And, I suppose, because I like you.”

Zeveth ended up staying at Luric’s home for hours after carrying the books inside. He’d never talked this much about himself ever before. Especially not since he was turned into a demon hunter. But there was something about this elf, this Luric, that made him feel like he could trust him. That he actually cared about what Zeveth was saying. This natural trust made Zeveth feel perfectly fine talking about how he hated what he’d become. That ever since he’d become a demon hunter he’d felt wrong. He felt like he was a monster. And the fact that he’d been forced to go through the transformation didn’t exactly help his mindset. He’d been a proud blood elf back when he’d been a humble warrior working as the captain of the guard in his beloved Silvermoon. Then Kael’thas Sunstrider had selected a bunch of his people to send to the Black Temple on Outland. They’d had no idea why they were sent there but because they were loyal and loved and trusted their leader no one had questioned it. And once they knew what was gonna happen to them it had been too late. Ironically Zeveth had been one of the ones that survived the ordeal of becoming a demon hunter. He had hated himself, and what he’d become, ever since. And having been trapped in a crystal prison with his own, as well as his demon’s, thoughts for about twenty years had not improved the way he felt about himself.
Once he’d finished talking Luric just looked at him with nothing but sympathy in his eyes. Then he hugged Zeveth. After a few seconds Zeveth hugged him back.
