He could feel his muscles tightening and stretching rhythmically. It was a feeling he knew all too well. And he loved it. He found training...fulfilling. And it showed that he'd thought so for years, considering how ripped he was now. Beautifully chiseled muscles covered his body from head to toe. Thundercloud was proud of that. Although being strong had its drawbacks as well. For one thing it usually meant that he was the one doing all the heavy lifting or the one who had to pull heavy stuff when it was needed. But he guessed it was also part of the charm. And he did enjoy being needed and useful. At times he did sigh when asked to do these things though.
His mind started wandering back to when he'd lived with the native tribe that had given him his beloved nickname. That had been a trying time at first for a young guy straight from a huge city, but after a while he'd gotten used to it and had even come to enjoy it. He'd eventually become their best warrior. It had meant spilling the blood of members of rivaling tribes. It shocked him now to think of how easily it had come to him to do that sort of thing... To crack another person's head open with your own weapon...it had been such a natural thing to do then. He didn't really understand how that could be. He'd been raised as a God fearing Christian and still considered himself as such even to this day. Sure, during his time in the city he'd done some bad stuff including stealing and using drugs but that had all stopped one night when he'd found himself overdosing and instead of dying in that alley he'd been saved by an angel. At first he thought he'd been seeing things, but he soon realized that it was an actual angel that was standing next to him and giving him another chance at life. She was his guardian angel and after that night he'd taken a hold of his life and turned things around. That had been when he'd started training for real. And after a year or two he'd decided to travel some and had ended up with the tribe.
Thundercloud smiled to himself as he got up from the floor having done his sit-ups and push-ups for the day. He'd just realized that in a strange way the tribe had brought him even closer to God, even though he'd been killing people while there. The way that he'd been forced to live everyday like it was his last and the way things had been simpler there had made him appreciate everything God had given him and every day that God decided to give him henceforth. He was after all living on borrowed time. If it hadn't been for his guardian angel, sent that night by God, he wouldn't be here now. He wouldn't have turned out to be the man he was today if he'd by some miracle had survived the OD without his angel. He probably wouldn't have met all the friends he now had, or his lovely girlfriend. And he probably wouldn't have found his true home in this world, which happened to be in this medium sized town where all of those friends lived. He smiled again and looked up towards the ceiling of the enormous underground gym he was in.
Two arms suddenly wrapped around his waist and chest.
-"What are you looking at, my big teddy bear?" Michelle asked in a seductive whisper.
-"Nothing really." He said as he turned around to face her. She was so beautiful. Always took his breath away. "Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?" He asked as he kissed her lightly on the lips.
-"You have." She said as she smiled at him. "But I don't mind hearing it again and again." This time she kissed him.
-"Thank you God. For everything..." he whispered softly as he embraced her lovingly.
