She is as at home in her secluded country retreat (with all the modern conveniences) as she is sprawling in her posh condo right in the heart of downtown Centropolis.
In Analia's opinion, where there is art, you can make yourself at home.
Both a talented artist and an investor in the arts, she seeks out and rewards young talent at every given opportunity. Her dear friend Crystallon is a classic example of a formerly unknown artist she helped raise to fame and popularity. While Crys is the sort who wants to try her hand at every medium, Analia prefers the soothing swish of a brush on new canvas. She learned the classic techniques of painting alongside the famed landscape painter Autumn Moon and the two are practically inseparable. All three have a unit at the highly exclusive Galleria Tower on Main Street, the building a work of art in and of itself. Students and interns of the Delphi Art Gallery come to gawk and sigh every time an apartment opens up for viewing by the public. The place is every artist's dream.
Her subject matter is often abstract, unrestrained shapes in vibrant colors that force the viewer to think outside the box, not merely give the painting a casual glance and think they can dismiss it as a mere portait or bowl of fruit.
Speaking of fruit, she is quite partial to citrus of any kind. She delights in oranges - any color that can also cause a burst of delightful flavor on the tongue is art that one can taste.
A thing of beauty.
Vinegar, on the other hand, is a concoction of bitter horror she hopes to never encounter again.
She can seem aloof to those who do not know her well. An artist needs her seclusion for those quiet moments of inspiration that can be so easily lost in the blaring noise of daily life.
It is only with her real friends and fellow artists that she truly feels free to be herself. Dearest to her heart is Ranger, though the colorful little rogue can get her quite steamed up when he gets it into his head to stomp around in her paints and make "art" of his own all over her nice hardwood floors.
Today she is trying to capture the concept of healing in paint.
This is not from her own memory but from what she has seen on the faces of those she passes in the streets of Centropolis, some of them in the kind of pain Medicontra can resolve...
Some needing a different sort of treatment entirely.
Bold red streaks for recent battle contenders stumbling and limping their way to the Healer's tent. Palest tan for the terracoon sitting on a street corner, his chin coated in stubble and his tattered coat down to his knees. His face falls every time someone looks his way but passes on without so much as a kind smile. Indigo is for the lain who clutched a wilted boquet in her wing, each step seeming to weigh her down. Was it a relationship gone sour? A loved one who had lost some lingering fight with illness? Or was she merely lonely? Slashes of black for the shady bloodred telenine shooting glances every direction before slipping into an alley no respectable citizen would walk after dark.
These suffering souls in need of someone to give them voice were her people.
This painting follows on the heels of one already showing up in living rooms all over Subeta entitled "Joy".
Bright yellow circles tinged with orange that were the smiling faces of a trio of teenage torrents out for a shopping spree. Soft blue waves the rippling fabric of a young jollin's dress as she held her father's paw and quickly licked up every drop of ice cream before it could melt in the climbing sun. Palest green for the daffodils in Esther's Park, winning their hard-fought battle against the killing frosts that had finally been vanquished by spring.
These, too, were her people.
All the lives she encounters show up in her art in some way.
There is no person whose story is not worth telling. There are simply stories that have not yet been told.
