If you haven't already noticed, I'm Dru. I'll be talking a bit about my past, what I am, and what I do. As an easy way to put it, I'm a witch. Now before you go all "Mages and witches don't exist, blah, blah, blah" on me, then you should think again. We DO exist and we are very real. Just because you don't see something, doesn't make it fake, now does it? That's right. While you think on that one I'll continue with my story.

From what I was told, I was only 4 years old when the coven found me wandering around the forest that they bewitched to surround and protect the themselves from any unwanted visitors. No matter how many times they asked me how I ended up there, I can't, for the life of me, remember... I can't remember anything from before then. They've tried searching my mind with spells from time to time only to find a blank slate in place of my memories. No fond memories or anything- it's just as if there was never anything there. It's as though the first two years of my life never existed. At first, they blamed me, saying that I had done something so they wouldn't know what I was up to- a spy. After a while, things calmed down and an older couple in the coven adopted me, seeing as how I had no where else to go, being as young as I was...

Let's fast forward to when I was 14. Most mages start to come upon their powers at around the age of 10 and then get put into special classes to learn how to use and control those powers. Apparently, I was a late bloomer and mine started coming in around then. For a while, they questioned my background. They knew I was of a magical heritage, but couldn't pin down my blood line (Mages and Witches normally have stronger family backings and specialize in different elemental types depending on their line.) At first, it was a few subtle things; a glass falling off my nightstand because I decided I wanted the cup I placed there or a door slamming when I forgot to shut it. However, as I started getting older and working towards controlling it, well... That's where it became out of control. I needed basic training to learn how to unlock a lock and read the weather. Hell, I couldn't even pop popcorn right! I'd go to unlock a door, and boom, the door exploded. Reading the weather; how about we predict a massive rain storm? And don't you even get me started about that damn popcorn! My powers were explosive and uncontrollable.

Fast forward again; I'm 18 now. I'm finally getting shipped out of this coven because I can't handle their looks anymore. They told me that once my magic appeared, my blood had changed and they can no longer tell what's going on with me. As though I wasn't teased enough as a child due to me being a stranger among those born and raised there, my new-found powers made it much, much worse. Like other outcasts, they feared me due to the the destructiveness of my powers.Since then, I've decided that once I come of age, I would leave and find my own answers because, although I've searched, I could find nothing of where I came from or why I'm like this, which is very frustrating! My magic mentor informed me about a place that can help with these types of "issues" of the other-world type that I have. They also specialize as a sort of "police" for the supernatural kind.Since we're separate from the mundanes (normal humans) and we like to keep it that way. A lot of the time, when a magical being decides they'd like to give the mundanes' lives a major stir, it's covered as a natural disaster and is covered up quickly and efficiently by the SDA or "Supernatural Detection Agency". Well, it looks like that's where I'm headed! Wish me luck and let's hope I manage to find out a bit more about myself than what I know now... Which is nothing at all.

As I step out of the underground, I shake my head in disgust. What do they call these things again?" I thought to myself while making my way to my target. "Oh, right. They're called 'Subways'. Never taking one of these again. Ever." I can tell you this, there's not much of an improvement above ground. Everything looks a bit dirty, the streets are made of cobblestones, and there is litter all over the area. I continue to walk down and it starts to clear up, becoming not as grimy and dirty as the previous area was.The streets are busy, with people hustling and bustling to their next destination. I continue to walk, looking at the map and address again. I'm close, very close to where I'm headed. "Wait... THIS is the place?" The tiny shack in front of me that appears to be nothing but a small rickty thrift store? You have got to be kidding me.

I try to open the door, but even though it looks unstable, it's as strong as steel. I see a knocker in the center of it and decide to give it a go. After waiting impatiently for a few minutes, I'm about to kick in the dirtied window when the door opens when a giant suddenly walks out. I'm not even exaggerating here! He must have easily been 8 feet tall! How he even got out of that door is beyond me. He stopped in front of me and stared down at me as if I was merely a bug. "What is your request, mundane?" he asked of me. I wasn't trying to be rude he was just so... giant!I stared up at him, my coldest set on my face. "Mundane?" I sneer. I inform him that I am anything but mundane, and that I'm looking for the SDA. Just the mere thought of being called mundane causes my magic to boil and cause damage. How dare he even suggest that I'm common or boring?! I am anything but that! I tell him that I'm a witch and that I need to see... I look down at my paper again, oh, right! Professor Jarren. He snatches the note from my hand without even asking. What is this giant's problem? He grunts, swings the door back open, and allows me to enter, following closely behind me. The nerve of this creature!I am instantly amazed by how massive the inside of this place is. I'm not used to seeing such... Magic? I don't know what else could explain it. The hall is white, almost blindingly so, and so clean! There are doors lined along the hall as well, and at the end is a huge silver elevator. We don't stop until we reach the end of the hall. The giant reaches around me and punches a bunch of numbers into the elevator keypad which draws the elevator to the floor that we're on. As it opens, there's so much room in it, enough to probably fit a rather large elephant in, and maybe his family along with it... I'm curious as to why they'd need an elevator of this size, but quickly dismiss that thought. Something tells me that I really don't want to know.

It feels like ages have gone by when we finally stop at our destination and I was shocked as we reached it. It was a huge octagon shaped room with a huge glass door at each edge. You could only see shapes through them, though, not what was behind them, just shadows of what was in there. As we passed the first one, you could see people running back and fourth, catching these other small dots that were flying around... They were everywhere! I couldn't stop to get a better look as the giant ushered me forward to the next room. I stared around quickly at the other rooms with what time I had... And what I saw couldn't be explained. He opened the door for me and we came upon a circular room. There was a door to the left that was closed. In the center, there was a large chair with straps that looked like they had held many, many legs and arms. A women stood by it, fiddling with some tools on a table. The giant shoved me toward her saying, "This girl has come to see you, doctor." turning on his heel, he stalked back out the door. I turned back to the female in front of me. Looking over her, she appeared to be in her late 30's. Slender and tall, her hair looked like she had rolled off the wrong side of the bed. As I was looking over her, she screeched and, before I knew it, was wrapping herself around me! What was wrong with this crazy women?! When she finally got over her blubbering, she said to me "Finally, someone without fins or tentacles, ugh!" She bounced happily, and I was no less confused than I was upon entering this crazy place. She continued on; "Oh, forgive me! I'm just so glad to see someone more... You know... Anyway! I'm Professor Jarren, and you are?" Before I could even reply to her questioning, she leaped on. "Oh, and yes, I can tell that you're a witch, though your type eludes even me... You see, I can read types of species and breeds, so to speak, of supernatural beings. I can tell that you're a witch, and normally I could also tell your type. There are many types of witches and even warlocks along with fae, wolves-..." She must have seen my look of astonishment, I mean really... Wolves? FAE? What crazy world did I just enter? I am now starting to wish I was still back with the others, though they hated me. At least there was some base of sanity...

I spent a few days doing testing to see if there's any way for me to control my powers, or at the very least make them not as destructive... They gave me a plain room to stay in while I work in them with my powers. Early one morning, Jarren comes bursting in my room, excitement written all over her face. In my days here, I've realized Jarren can never hold in her emotions, anything she feels is written all over her face. It's like reading an open book. Before I'm able to get any words out, she squeals happily, "Good news or bad news?!" I've always learned that taking in the bad news first, letting the blow land, is normally the easier route to go. It gets it over with quickly. She tells me that they've discovered nothing about my powers, that they're not sure if they can find the answers I need. I feel my hopes shatter, though I knew they wouldn't be able to do much for me... I turn to gather my few things, forgetting about Jarren standing there. She shouts at me to wait, that I haven't asked the good news yet, so I turn back to her to stare. That's when she pulls a purple bow out of her back pocket. A bow?! What the hell does she think this is, some kind of joke? As if she feels the rage flowing from me, she continutes telling me that the bow was once owned by a very powerful witch and had just arrived today. She goes on to say that she had pulled some strings to "borrow" such an artifact. She says that the witch had created the simple purple ribbon before us as a way to store excess power, to allow her to control with ease. Things like this aren't common, it's pretty impossible for witches of this day and age to be able to create things. She hands it to me, eyes alight waiting for me to tie it on.

I stare at her a few more moments, I just can't believe this. How is something so, so plain and cloth supposed to help me control myself? I tie it into my hair and suddenly I feel it... Like a lifting off my shoulders, this can't be real? I feel lighter, it's such a weird sensation. It was a numbing sensation a bit like your foot falling asleep, but all over. It only lasts for less than a minute, but I feel so much more free. I stand from my bed and flex my fingers, feeling the magic bend slightly more to my will than I'm used to. I look up and Jarren is beaming at me like she's just brought home a shiny new toy, but doesn't want to share yet. I'm about to ask what the catch is for this ribbon when she interupts my train of thought - "So! How would you like to join the SDA?!" And there's my catch.

Yay twined with Zee; till come once I start to work on his!
