the hunter

- husband of lujei and father of sinta
- he used to be an average human being, but after he and lujei went through some extreme hardships as a young couple, he made a pact with an entity, wanting to gain the health and strength to be able to protect and support her
- he was granted the ability to shift into a stronger form, but with it came predatory, violent instincts that warped him over time; his normal appearance also changed dramatically as time went on
- he mostly hunts animals, since he and lujei live in an incredibly secluded area now, but has been known to go after humans as well; it really just depends on what's most readily available
- he and lujei are still together and incredibly devoted to one another, but their relationship isn't what it once was; while eliam's moral code has been destroyed enough that he doesn't feel much guilt, he's aware that she doesn't quite approve of the things he's done. unfortunately, lujei doesn't tend to confront him about anything and he's very, very good at justifying everything to himself, so their relationship is stuck in a sort of toxic standstill
- he isn't especially close to sinta these days, but he loves her dearly and is proud of her, especially of her strength, and the two get along fine. he just wishes she had never left home
