Fox is a forest ranger and belongs to the Pack that lives in the crux of woods between Hydra's lake and mountains and the Prairie herds. He was blessed with the magical ability to shapeshift to a human form, (he looks like a lumber jack), though he prefers wolf, and he can sense the balance of nature around him. He has extraordinary sight, hearing, and sense of smell. He can also run for great distances before tiring. When asked his age, he just smiles, magic, especially the healing magic of trees can be quite funny sometimes. Everyone has always known the ranger wolf with the fluffy coat and wise smile. His best friend is a beautiful autumn griffin named Nestle. She lives for being cozy and loving knitting. Once she saw his human form she began to knit him sweaters, scarves, blankets, and well, anything she can get him to take home with him. While embarrassed he also thanks her for being so sweet. She also offers him fresh baked pies and homemade jams, which he gladly accepts. He brings her little trinkets from the forest and she uses them in her crafting. He also makes sure she always has firewood and her house-nest is in good repair. He loves spending time drinking hot chocolate or tea with her by the hearth.
His duties extend beyond his pack to the magic of the woods itself. It was he who discovered Bespelled, the wolf who lived somewhere in the sorcerers woods. Whoever they were, they went through great lengths to hide themselves, and the lean white wolf as well. But the spells upon Bespelled couldn't hide him from Foxx's life-centered magic who could feel the great wolfs heart even if he could not see him. So, taking a chance he banished the veil between himself and the lone one. It wasn't long before he removed it for the wolves in his pack as well.
No wolf deserves to be alone, even one as turned around as the Bespelled one was. When they saw him, be it days or weeks, or months between visits, they always greeted him as a brother. They knew he was entangled with the sorceress and nothing they could do would change that. And while often confused by their questions, he was insistent that he was fine where he was.
Foxx has many pieces of the puzzle, more than he knows. He knows of the little dragon named Florial who Nestle looks in on. He knows of the dragon Hydra living in the mountains that overlook the great lake to the north. He knows of the sorceress and has met Bespelled. He is the wolf most familiar with the Prairie tribe and knows of their problem with the Fleet. The Prairie tribe were mostly nomadic, roaming the southern golden plains up to the northern mountain foothills blooming with orange flowers. They were made up of equines- unicorns, pegasi, alicorns, and horses. The Fleet were less nomadic and more superstitious. If the Prairie was sunlight, the Fleet were moonlight.
Foxx knows of a nature god named Floran who creates the highly coveted wizarding crystals with just a touch of his horn. And that he must stay hidden from the world at all costs. He also knows that if you go south and west far enough that you can find mermaids. He's never seen one but Seawolf has and Foxx believes him. The Opalit however, he is less inclined to believe without seeing.
For the most part he runs around the woods making sure the bears don't get too unruly, the squirrels don't go nuts over stealing each other's nuts, visiting his best friends, and warning campers against forest fires.
