The report came in early in the morning, though according to the Old Wizard the pup had been missing for nearly a day now. This was Guard's first case, and with a youngster missing the telenine wasted no time getting out to the scene of the disappearance. The Wizard and Luna were both awaiting his arrival and Guard immediately questioned them.

"When did you first notice the pup missing, Ma'am?" Guard asked as he reached to push his sunglasses up, tucking them onto the small brim of his chapeau. He was slowly pacing back and forth along the steps to the wizard's house - the wizard himself was standing on the top step just inside the door and Luna lingered at his side. It was obvious the kumos was restless about the missing pup as she fidgeted and whined.

"Yesterday morning, he was not at breakfast, I don't remember if he was with me and the other pups when I woke." Luna explained and for a split second seemed quite guilty. Guard offered her a sympathetic smile and lowered his eyes to watch as another pup darted from between her legs and out across the field. He supposed he couldn't blame her - the sacred lands were one of the safest districts of Subeta, and by the looks of it she had a few youngsters she was caring for along with her master.

Nothing. At least, not at first, it took him awhile to pick up the slightest scent - but one that was vaguely familiar to him; it was very similar to Luna's! Finally, a lead! Quickly Guard got a better fix on the scent and followed it through the temple. It seemed as though the tike had been there, had himself a bit of an exploring party and then left again. As he was heading out he caught a glimpse of some shadowy shape ducking around the corner but he had a case to handle.

As he made his way further through Sacred Lands he noted a bit of hunger in his stomach, something he was sure the tike would be feeling too. Hmm, where could he get a bite to eat? Guard drew to a halt and glanced in various directions before spying the small shop. Of course! Spells Galore! While it didn't have normal goods, there was bound to be something edible. Hoping his suspicions were right Guard darted towards the shop and nearly collided with Laure as she was making her way out.

Guard gave an excited bark the moment he spied the slumbering white bundle in the girl's arms! So the small tike had made it to the store, and according to Laure had dinner and then spent the night. Happily Guard accepted the task of returning the tike home to a relieved Luna. As he stood watching the happy reunion he couldn't help wondering what that shadow had been back at the temple...

Description

This young telenine has the appearance of a German Sheppard dog; perhaps this played some role in him being chosen to train for SAI. His tan coat is heavy enough to keep him warm whenever he ventures into Arctic Frost without being overly bulky when he takes trips to the Glade and Darkside. A dark brown mark travels down the back of his head and neck, along his spine (dipping a bit down over his shoulders) all the way to the middle of his tail.

The same dark color appears in three other spots - the first is his muzzle, a simple and common marking, the other two are not so common. An extraordinary placement of this dark color has left a natural tie marking on the front of the telenine's chest. The tie is really quite dashing accompanied by the toeless dark socks on his front paws that appear like fingerless gloves.

Along with his natural markings Guard is often seen with two popular accessories. Upon completing his training he was gifted a special chapeau; the dark grey hat is accented with a blue and gold band along the edge of the brim attached by shiny gold buttons. Across the front his name is stated in bold white letters. The other is the fine leather collar in a shade of blue that is nearly identical to his eyes.
