Alias: Hope
Age: 19
Occupation: Until she’s able to find a job on the side, having fun in life! And changing people's fates according to her sister's grim visions
Basics: A bundle of joy and enthusiasm, Hope was aptly named. She's a young woman who always finds a silver lining, even when there seems to be none. Throughout her life she's learned not to be optimistic to the point of annoyance but still stay positive, and has successfully found a way to put a smile on anyone's face, something she revels in. Hope is often by the side of her moody sister Drea and when she's not you can be sure she's thinking about her. (Drea is the main person and thing Hope actually confesses to seriously worrying about.) When not with her sister, Hope enjoys jogging (she occasionally trains for marathons) ogling at a weird mix of Steampunk and Victorian style clothing for sale (she and her sister Drea both share an odd sense of fashion), and simply hanging out with friends. One of Hope's goals in life is to continually show people the beauty in the world, and that life is always worth living. Always.

"Hope we need to get to the intersection of Kinsley and highway 54." Drea scratched at one of her knee-high socks, her heart heavy. Her head was still swirling from the vision, and it took a while for her to step back from what she saw. A small boy pancaked to the road wasn't exactly a pleasant sight."

Tap, tap, tap tap.

Tap, tap, tap, tap.

"Oof!"

Hope scrambled back up to her feet, ignoring the skinned knee that the unforgiving sidewalk had left her with. She was almost there.

Dashing around the next street corner Hope's eyes widened as she saw a small boy waiting to cross the street, headphones covering his ears and a dazed look apparent on his flushed face. A glance up at the clouds made a new adrenaline rush course through Hope as she continued to pick up speed. She didn't have much time left if Drea's vision had been spot-on. Judging by the boy's headphones, yelling a warning would be pointless.

Hope’s boots pounded against the pavement as she closed the gap between the boy and herself. Whipping her head from side to side Hope’s eyes widened as she saw a transit bus barreling down the road. Taking a deep breath the young lady made a mad dash from the sidewalk across the street just as the boy began to walk forward, unaware of the danger screeching towards him as he bobbed his head back in forth to his music.

“STOP!” Hope screamed as she came closer and closer, despite continuing to be pretty adamant that her voice wouldn’t be able to cut through whatever was assaulting the boy’s ears.

He kept walking.

“Aw c’mon I just dry-cleaned this blouse!” Hope hollered out just before she ungracefully tackled the boy, who let out a surprised yelp. They hit the ground hard, though Hope took most of the impact as she rotated her body with the thin boy in her arms. Due to the speed she’d accumulated, Hope had successfully pushed the boy all the way back onto the sidewalk, one hand cradled around his head for protection. Within the span of about 5 seconds the bus passed, obviously going over the speed limit.

Letting out a cough and yanking off his headphones the boys eyes widened, then his face grew angry, “What the hell are you doing lady?! You could’ve gotten me killed!” He called out, sounding surprisingly articulate for what Hope guessed his age was. The boy obviously wasn’t expecting the smile that spread across Hope’s face as she gently pulled the boy to his feet, ignoring the pain shooting up her spine.

“No, that bus would have.” The boy looked honestly confused before furrowing his brows in concentration. After a few seconds it was obvious he remembered at least a piece of what had been happening at the time Hope had pushed him down.

“Holy crap, uhm, thanks.” Noticeably wincing, the boy nervously looked at his arm which was bleeding slightly. Other than that he had no injuries. Hope was a bit worse for wear, with a large gash running down her shoulder and her shirt ripped in several places.

Watching the boy wince, a flash of concern flitted across Hope's face. "You alright?" The boy looked up and nodded slowly. Her smile back in place, Hope straightened up a bit and fished a band aid out of her pockets, handing it to the boy. “Think you can call a parent or someone to pick you up? You should probably de-stress after this haha.” The boy’s face rose, a look of shock still plastered on it.

“Oh, uh, yeah… Yeah. I can. T-thank you again.” He said shakily.

“Want me to wait with you until somebody can come?” Hope replied, ignoring the thanks for the time being and guiding the boy to a nearby bench to sit down.

“No, I think I’ll be ok.” The boy’s shocked looked turned back to confusion. “How did you know that bus was coming, I know you weren’t right next to me when you uh, tackled me…? Despite my lack of concentration on…other stuff” He mumbled towards the end, flushing in embarrassment.

Hope beamed. “Just right time, right place, I guess.” With those words a cell phone could be heard vibrating. Hope fished around in her shorts pockets again before finding the device and flipping the phone open in a flash.

“Yes Drea he’s ok. Try to give me more notice next time, my shirt is a total mess. Yes he’s not hurt. Drea, he’s fine, it’s ok, calm down. Yes I’m fine too, just a few cuts and scrapes. Just a few. I’ll be back at the car in a sec. Drea. Breathe. Thank you. Ok. See you in a few minutes. Love you.”

Hope snapped the phone shut and sighed before tapping the boy lightly on the head. “You have a good day, ok? And look both ways before you cross the street next time, I'm pretty sure they teach you that in school.” Before the boy could respond or blush further, Hope gave a wink and a grin before jogging back across the street and onto the sidewalk.

Another life saved.

As a child, Hope had always been close to her twin, Drea. Some would say unusually close, but this was mainly due to the fact that Drea was extremely introverted, which led to her rarely leaving Hope's side unless necessary. Hope, on the other hand, was a social butterfly since birth.Besides being extroverted, Hope was also very insightful, and by the age of 8 (probably earlier) she noticed that her sister was struggling with something she couldn't verbalize, and something that was tearing her apart inside.

.:- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -:.

Ever since Drea was little, she's been able to see into the future. The thing is, she only sees negative events that are about to occur, and she is powerless to stop them. Last time she tried to push a man out of the way of a speeding car, he cracked his head open on the sidewalk. Her trying to prevent any event does cause the future to change, but not in a positive way.

These flashes of the future generally come to her during the night in dreams, though she also gets flickers of things-to-come during the day (often resulting in headaches). It's often hard for Drea to tell exactly when things will happen, but she's learned to pick up cues from the weather, surroundings, and other small details. She's also noticed that most of these events happen nearby.

For quite a while Drea struggled on her own to try and save people, not realizing it was impossible. Finally, through a long series of events, it was figured out that Hope, Drea's sister, was able to change the future with Drea's guidance. Hope is successfully able to push people out of the way of cars, alert the authorities of robberies to come, and in turn save lives. Without Hope, Drea wouldn't be able to deal with life in general. Hope is her sister, her best friend, and her lifeline.

Nowadays the two are stuck together like glue. The minute Drea has a vision, Hope is alerted. Sometimes they don't get there in time, others the occurrence is too far away, but the sisters are doing their best.
