The Wish Granter


Do you know that place between the physical and ethereal planes? Where the bonds that tie the body and the soul exist? That is where Kirari exists too. She watches over Subeta from a place where she cannot be seen, and she observes the lives of those who believe in miracles.

That's also what she believes she is: a miracle. A being who exists simply because someone wished it.

That she wouldn't have life if someone had not given it.

And it is because she believes this that she watches over Subeta.

Most of her time is spent idly observing, finding humor in watching children discover the joys of throwing a ball for the first time, their first taste of ice cream, the wonder in their eyes when they meet their first pet, and the love in their hearts when they become friends forever.
She finds joy in watching people and pets alike celebrate when they finally reach that hard-earned goal.
She even finds love in the sad and scary moments when children and young adults speak honestly to their friends and families for the first time.

All of these things that humans take for granted...


Kirari sees a miracle in all of them.


Sometimes, though, Kirari's sight is drawn to a specific pet in a specific moment, and she hears their voice ringing a wish into her ears. Sometimes those moments are joyful and she is happy to grant their wish. Other times, the moment is sorrowful, and she needs to use her best judgment on whether or not to grant a wish. She cannot grant wishes made in moments of hatred or anger, and instead she sends feelings of warmth and calmness, which in turn grants that wish maker a second chance.

In rare instances, Kirari herself will make a wish for a person or pet who she sees and feels needs a reason to smile again. That's how Maika was born; simply because Kirari wished for her to, and now Kirari finds joy in the rainbows that Maika cheerfully spreads all over Subeta, making the world a brighter and happier place.

Kirari calls herself The Wish Granter, but those beings whose lives she has affected might refer to her as a Miracle Maker...

... And goodness knows....

Life itself is a miracle.
