All Hail the Prince of Darkness

"You aren't listening." Came an annoyed voice from my chamber doorway. Ah yes, another rant about the servants not obeying her. My sister could be such a bore.

"No, I am enjoying a true masterpiece at the moment." I grunted, turning the page of my new book. I would rather spend the day reading about ancient history and long dead heros than Perci's words. "It is far more interesting."

Perci pulled back her long blonde hair into a messy ponytail and her glacier blue eyes locked onto me sitting in my rather comfy chair. I should have known better, but I continued to flip the pages, ignoring her angry stomping toward me. A Buffalo would have made less sound in a China shop, but still I was engrossed in my story.

Violently she ripped my story from my hands and began to flip through it herself. Rolling my eyes I finally looked up and her disgusted face.

"You are reading a love story?" She crinkled her nose, "what are you tweleve?"

"I enjoy that particular author. Their last story of a bard racing across the world to save their lover was most entertaining. The man could only speak in rhymes."

My sister locked gazes with me. You could tell she wanted to say something witty, but was also intrigued by my words. "Why rhymes?"

"It was a curse to make his journey harder." I finally stood and took my book back. More upset now by her losing my place than her sudden storming in unannounced. "So what maid did you wrong today Perci?"

She grunted and folded her arms across her chest. Her lavish white dress had a red stain on the front that made me raise my brow. Before I could ask she answered, "Let's just say she won't be making that mistake again."

I merely shrugged off her obvious hint of murdering a maid. It wasn't uncommon for my sister. Despite looking like an angel, she was still a demon like the rest of us. No matter how well we pretended to be human like, our natures always come out in the end.

"How princessly of you Perci." I let out a sigh and walked by her, reaching for the book I mentioned before. "You're temper is always getting the best of you." I held out the book as a peace offering, more to get her out of my room.

She merely pouted and exchanged books with me. After finally getting mine back I watched her somber off toward the door once more.

"Ex?" Came Perci's now whimpering tone. "Do you think mom and dad will forego the entire betrothal?" She looked at me with sorrowful eyes.

"Not a chance." I watched her wings fall in response to my stark tone. "Besides I wouldn't worry. The Prince that is coming to visit you cannot be any worse than yourself-"

I barely dodged my favorite book being tossed at my head. It sped by like a guided missle, nearly taking my head off. I grinned at the now empty doorway.

It had been several months since my parents announced that my sister was to be married off to a lord or prince from another ring of Hell. True she wasn't happy with her situation and she didn't take any time in letting us know it. After all the servants had only just repaired the dinning hall from the hurricane that was her fury that night. However, as my parents said, she had known this day was coming. She was a princess after all.

Letting out a long sigh, I sat myself in my chair once more. Using the warm glow of the fireplace to illuminate my reading. Granted I was no where near the social terror my younger sister was, but I was no Saint either. Far from it actually.

Most nobles would hide from me rather than even stand in my presence. I was the dumpster fire for all the nasty powers my bloodline held. I got a little bit of everything. One of those powers was a natural fear effect that I used to my advantage often. When I didn't want to be around others, I would just use it and walk away. Even if I wasn't actually mad about the situation.

The only person in the family that knew my persona wasn't all it was cracked up to be was Perci, my sister. She would twist my arm and use me to her own advantage from time to time to make sure she wouldn't spill I was actually a poor excuse for a demon.

Narumi

As the current and youngest Lady of the house, I respect you. You command a legion of demons at a young age, but my Lady...

Your naming skills leave a lot to be desired.

Bloodhand

My former master, once the proud leader of the Voltaire family. Now it reduced to being a demon trapped within an infinite time loop. I will always refer to you as Master.

Now, if only you would stop bringing filthy mortals into your crew, I would much appreciate it....

DISINTEGRATING

Vile little mortal, how dare you sneak into my charge! You made a delightful snack and your corpse did well to decorate the Voltaire family catacomb floor. Shame Master came to your rescue.

If it were up to me, you would never have been brought back. Enjoy the unlife little creature, for it will be your last chance if I get any say in your fate.
