premade profile by Chen
Name: Unknown
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Race: Terminian Hylian
The origin of this mysterious man is very unclear; though he has stated that he is Terminian in race, no one knows of his family.
There was an excerpt in the stories of ancient Hyrule that alluded to a man known as 'The Running Man,' who roamed the lands around the same time that The Hero of Time defeated Ganon. This man, however, was equally as mysterious as our Postman, and all that is known by him has been donated by Link himself:
"The running man is a peculiar creature; he runs around the fields of Hylia from dawn til dusk, and every night is spent admiring the sky, daydreaming about joining the extinct race of rabbits that used to roam Hyrule.
"When I was a child, I spent a small amount of time selling masks for the Happy Mask Salesman in Castle Town. I came across this hooded rabbit mask. Naturally, being young, I had to try it out and I just so happened to cross paths with the running man that day. He begged me to sell the mask to him, and for a moment I had contemplated saying no and keeping it for myself; I grew fond of it and wanted to earn the rupees to pay it off myself. But this man looked so desperate. So dependent on this mask. I couldn't keep happiness from him - that's what this business was about, right? - so I sold him the mask. The coinpurse I had at the time held two hundred rupees, and the running man pulled a bulging purse from his pack and poured it into mine, until it was full. I could nearly feel his gratitude.
"Since then, I saw the running man more and more, and would often spend evenings sitting by LonLon Ranch with him, talking about life. He was a very kind man, albeit not very forthcoming about his life.
"A couple months before Gannon's downfall, I had the opportunity to race him. I am humbled in that I attempted to beat him more than ten times, on a horse no less, and he still beat me.
"It saddens me to say that I know nothing else about him. I know he's a kind-hearted man, though, regardless of his mystique."
Aside from Link's testimony, nothing else is known about the running man, or what happened to him after the Princess and Link regained control of Hyrule.
Postman is a character from The Legend of Zelda. I do not claim ownership of him, only this story.
