Growing up with a privileged lifestyle is usually a good thing: better education, better house, better food... better everything. But that often just leads to a feeling of superiority over all those who don't have as much. Oh my god you still have the old iPhone? Gross.

People experience all sorts of privilege. Because of their money or things they really have no chance to change. Race. Gender. Sexuality. Yes, equality is necessary (everyone deserves equal rights regardless of who exactly they are) but every time someone tries to remove all privilege, we end up with a communist nation where even fewer benefit while everyone else is left in the dust. Communism; great in theory but with no chance of success where people are used to having privilege.

So what if racism was never a thing? Sexism? Homophobia? Fantastic! Let's aim for that! But there will always be the privileged towering over everyone else and deciding on things that affect everyone else. Want to lower minimum wage? Someone has the power to do that. Kick everyone with an income below average out on the street? They'd probably find a way to do that too. As much as we hate it, the privileged will always be in charge while the general public have to accept it (or not accept it and riot. What are the chances of that doing anything? Very little, let's be honest) and nothing on earth could change that.

So what about when someone in a position of power, someone privileged, really cares about people? They do what they can to help people; they genuinely do good for as many people as possible.

So what about when someone in a position of power, someone respected, does everything they can to help people? They do what they can to improve lives; they genuinely make people happy.

So what about when someone in a position of power, someone liked, suddenly decides to go against everything they have ever done? They do what they can for their own benefit; they ruin lives.

"It's him, the hero of the people!"

Cameras were everywhere as he got out of the car, door held open by his chauffeur. He was an imposing figure: dark skin, a good six foot tall with moderate muscles, neat dark brown hair and clear blue eyes. If his physical appearance wasn't enough, he was also wearing a well tailored black suit which was obviously a very expensive brand. It was clear the man was of good standing and anyone would assume that made him somewhat intimidating to speak to, however people quickly crowded around him as he stepped away from his car. They all wanted to speak to him, to ask him various things, and they quickly blocked out the cameras' views, camera crews having to fight to get a good view for their show.

Henry Sinclair, that was the name of the man. He was certainly a man of power and, despite not officially being in politics himself, it was no secret that his opinions could sway the vote in Parliament. Mr Sinclair decided the minimum wage should be raised? Politicians would suddenly decide the minimum wage should be raised substantially. Mr Sinclair opposed some sort of planned military action? Some change of heart would occur in which the country backed out of any military interference into that particular thing. And that was why he was such a popular man. Henry was certainly 'one for the people' as the clichéd phrase goes. He would often use his influence to help 'the common man' (another cliché).

Not only that but it was also well known that he was willing to stop to talk to anyone. On more than one occasion, Henry had been known to be late to a business meeting because he had stopped along the way as a young woman grabbed his attention, complaining her children had been turned down from going to her first choice school. Miraculously, the children would then be accepted into the school. It was certainly the case that, if you wanted something, you should go to him.

That was why, everywhere he went, he was surrounded by the public and reporters alike and yet Mr Sinclair never seemed to get annoyed with the attention. Not because he was a media hog; simply because he was always willing to lend a helping hand, either for an individual person or by making his opinion on something known to try to make a change.

Henry waved to the crowd surrounding him, saying hello to the reporters on a first name basis.

"Mr Sinclair, are you supporting any causes at the moment?"
"Ahh, none in particular. I like to keep my options open; however, I am rather fond of children's charities at the moment."

The questions continued and he tried his best to answer as many as possible before eventually having to excuse himself to go into his own house.
"My wife is waiting and I could imagine her being quite upset if I missed dinner." And with those as his last words, Henry entered his house after a good hour and a half of speaking to the press and the public. That was where the mask fell.

For a long time, Henry Sinclair had truly believed in what he was saying but eventually he decided it to be tedious helping everyone who so much as hinted at any troubles and while he knew the majority at least were genuine, there was always the thought at the back of his mind that there may be people using him and his good nature for his money. So after a long discussion to Mrs Candice Sinclair, he had decided he would back out of many of his causes and try to live a life more hidden away from the cameras. However something neither spouse had taken into account was that once you got in the spotlight, it wasn't your choice whether or not you left it. He was getting tired. Eventually, something would have to be done about the impossible task of falling into obscurity, but until then he would have to live in the knowledge he would be followed in every single step he took.
