| Story snippet Every once in a great while, an Irion will be pulled from the fighting ranks of the aerie and bestowed with the title 'Garuda'. It is said to be a great honor to ever be considered for the title, as only others who have previously been dubbed as such will choose the newest members of their rank, and the Garuda are said to only gather once every ten years. Rain certainly hadn't expected to be called to participate in the Garuda's gathering. She was perhaps an above average fighter amongst the ranks of her aerie, but by and far was no where near one of the best. And surely, the Garuda would only choose one with unparalleled battle prowess to join their own? Surely she was just being picked as an average target to base the skills of the other contestants from. With no real hopes for victory, the young female rose to the challenge and joined the other chosen candidates on the sea cliff as the dawn rose above the waves. No one expected what would happen next. Not even Rain. |
