Work in progress! Please excuse the mess!

His name was Remington.... And he was a bloodhound.

When you hear the word "Bloodhound" I'd suspect the usual things would come into mind... crime shows, Scruff McGruff, and giant slobbery lazy things. Well, that is exactly what you can say about this guy... but let me start at the beginning....

Our search began many years ago when my then boyfriend Brent told me he had always dreamed of having a bloodhound. I on the other hand was far from being into those big slobbery things and was all about my Siberian Huskies. No, a hound was definitely NOT the dog for me. But as time passed and our relationship blossomed I began my search for a bloodhound puppy... it was to be the first addition to our family. Three years had passed and not once had I come across a bloodhound outside of the police force here in California and I thought that a bloodhound would be like finding a needle in a haystack. I was right.

The idea and search was abandoned after a while and as another year passed and we became engaged our lives become more busy. Being the computer obsessed person I am I was on craigslist fairly often when one day an add caught my eye;

Purebred Bloodhound Puppy.

This was it. This was the one thing I had been searching for for almost three years.... I sent a message to the person and quickly got a response:

Its a male, runt of the litter not show quality. We can meet tomorrow if you want him.

I ran into my room screaming "I found one, I found one!". Brent looked at me rather quizzically and asked "Found what?"
Needless to say the next day we went and picked up the adorable little baby we had just added into our lives.

His name was to be Remington... Sir Remington the Hound.

We love and miss you.

Hiya, My name is Sir Remington the Hound- but you can just call me Remi.

I like to think my life is an adventure! It all started on December 27th, 2010... I was born! Awesome story right?! Well, that was just the beginning.

I was the runt of fourteen- yes, fourteen Bloodhound puppies. That means I have a lot of older siblings. Anyways, they all grew up and got homes and I was still living with the breeders until I was three months old. We'll fast forward that part... it was just okay, they gave me their idea of a name "Wilson." Bleck! Who names royalty Wilson?

Back to the story... So this girl and boy who've known each other for almost their entire lives decided they wanted a Bloodhound. They had searched for years for one but my breed is very uncommon in California. After years of searching they found me, on craigslist! Fast as they could, they came and took me away! Bringing me to a new home on March 22nd, 2011. It was heaven!
On the ride home I was super excited! Sniffing everything (that's what us hounds are good at), checking out the cars from the window, and generally looking so cute that people were waving to me... already famous at such a young age! Ah.
I was given a new name, an awesome name when I arrived at my new home, I was no longer Wilson... I was now Sir Remington the Hound! Much better for a royal dog such as myself! However, outside of my papers I'm just Remi... which works just fine when I'm playing out in the mud!
Anyways after the car ride, We went shopping at petsmart, it was like toy heaven! Then I got to meet Daisy (she's kinda like an older sister). She's a lab mix and wasn't too sure about me at first but she warmed up real quick after a bit of tug-a-rope.

Oh yea! I almost forgot my humans! Well, Sharkie is my momma ya see andBrentis my pop. They both live in different places so I take turns living with them until they get married- whatever that is. All I know is that momma spoils me when she sees me because she loves me. I Slub them.... Oh, Slubbing is a bloodhounds way of love, ya know we're super slobbery so uh... when we give you loves (or anything really) we also give you lots of slobber. So momma calls it "Slubbing".

I've gotten to do some really cool things! Like go into Target shopping, Go to the park, and I've been featured in a book called "Project Dog". My breed is so uncommon that the lovely people of the world ask to see my face printed!! I"ll live in infamy in a dog book! Ahhhwooo!

So what makes bloodhounds so special? Well.... We have the best noses in the world! That's right! We're the only dog that the law will use as actual evidence as a scent trail! That's pretty cool right? I think so. And we also find people! I'm gonna be training to be a SAR Dog- that's Search and Rescue. Wouldn't that be awesome? It takes a lot of work but I know I've got a great nose and can trail things really well. My pop has this cat named Sherbert and I sniff him out all the time!

Remi Fun Facts:

In Memory...

Sir Remington "Remi" the Hound was the best stinky wrinkly hound a girl could ask for. He brought lots of slub (Thats love and slobber combined... my husband and I came up with that term) and fun into our lives everyday. He's up in Rainbows Bridge now keeping our stairs all slobbery until we get there.

In memory of our Remi a custom item has been made! The beautiful artwork was done by Haan. You can find it in the CW shop!
