as much as snow should be cold, he's warm.

laying on his back in the snow, rocinante barely clings to life. he doesn't know how many times hes been shot, but it doesn't matter anymore. he had saved law's life and that it all that mattered.

the boy, barely past the age of twelve, is at his side, a mess of tears as he tries to use the devil fruits powers to heal him. he's frustrated, nothing is working and rocinante tells him to stop. it's all for naught, and before he fades he tells the other to leave, his own power would fade with his death so the boy must go. eyes drift closed as he barely makes out laws reluctant steps away.

rocinante dies to the sound of gun and canon fire, and the sound of a child, wailing in the distance.

yet he still dies with a smile on his face.
